SSC CHSL Salary & Posts Details: The SSC CHSL 2025 notification was released on June 23, 2025. The SSC CHSL notification 2025 is the one-stop solution for all the important information regarding the exam, including the SSC CHSL syllabus, vacancies, exam pattern, post-wise eligibility criteria and salary. The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) mentions the SSC CHSL posts 2025 too in the official notification. The Commission has prescribed the SSC CHSL exam pattern in the official notification itself. SSC CHSL exam has only two tiers- Tier 1 and Tier 2, and the candidates are required to qualify in both tiers to get appointed to the desired posts.

SSC CHL Post List

The SSC CHSL posts are mentioned in the official notification. Candidates appearing for the exam need to select the CHSL posts while filling out the form. The following SSC CHSL Posts are recruited, as per the requirement made by the indenting departments or ministries. 

Q:   What are the total marks in SSC CHSL Tier 1?
A:

The Commission conduct the SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam in online mode. SSC CHSL Tier 1 exam holds a total weightage of 200 marks. As per the SSC CHSL exam pattern, the Tier 1 has 100 questions, 25 MCQs from each of the four subjects/sections - English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and General Intelligence and Reasoning. There is a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answers given by candidates.

SSC CHSL Tier 1 Marking Scheme:

The Commission mentioned the SSC CHSL marking pattern in the official notification. The correct answer will fetch 2 marks and 0.50 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

Q:   How many SSC CHSL exam centres can I choose?
A:

Candidates can choose three SSC CHSL exam centres in the order of priority, within the
same region.
Candidates are advised to choose the SSC CHSL exam centres carefully while filling out the application form. The exam centres once selected by candidates in the application form cannot be changed later at any stage.

Q:   Are all the tiers of the SSC CHSL exam conducted in online mode?
A:
Yes, SSC CHSL Tier 1 and Tier 2 are conducted in an online mode. SSC CHL Tier 1 exam is the most important tier of the SSC CHSL exam, and hence the candidates should practice so that they can score better on this tier. The marks scored in the Tier 1 exam are normalized by the Staff Selection Commission SSC and the result is prepared based on the normalized marks. The candidates need to score equal to or more than the cutoff marks to get selected for the next tier.

  • For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG): Candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognised Board or University.
  • For Data Entry Operator (DEO Grade ‘A’) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent.

Qualifications for Distance Learning Candidates

The candidates who studied in the distance learning mode will be eligible for the SSC CHSL exam if they fulfil the condition given below:

“As per the Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10-06-2015 published in Gazette of India all the degrees/ diplomas /certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grant Commission Act, 1956 and  Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the Distance Education Bureau, University Grants Commission. Accordingly, unless such degrees are recognized for the relevant period when the candidates qualified, they will not be accepted for Educational Qualification.”

SSC CHSL Posts and Permissible Disabilities for PwD Candidates

For the SSC CHSL posts in the Border Roads Organisation, there is no reservation provided for the persons with Disabilities (PwD). For other posts in any ministry and department, the permissible limit for the PwD is mentioned in the official notification as below:

No, there is no sectional cutoff in SSC CHSL. Staff Selection Commission SSC is a government organisation that conducts various exams every year to recruit candidates for Group B and C posts in various ministries/ departments/ organizations of the Government of India.
