SSC CHSL notification 2023 has been released by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) on May 9, 2023. The SSC CHSL notification PDF 2023 contains important information regarding the exam including vacancies, eligibility criteria, syllabus, exam pattern and other details. As per the official notification, the Commission seeks to fill out approximately 1600 vacancies (tentative) to Group C posts for Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Data Entry Operators for various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals.

With the release of the official notification, SSC CHSL apply online link 2023 has been activated for the candidates so that they can fill out the application form within the stipulated time. Candidates can apply online for SSC CHSL 2023 exam before June 8, 2023. SSC CHSL 2023 exam will be conducted in August 2023.

The Commission has released the SSC CHSL 2023 online application link along with the notification. Candidates need to click the SSC CHSL apply online link 2023 to fill the application form. The SSC CHSL application process 2023 comprises two parts- registration and application.

Part 1: SSC CHSL Registration

Firstly, candidates need to register themselves on the official website of SSC. For the same, candidates need to click on the ‘New User? Register Now’ link on the Home page of the website and fill out the registration form, Candidates need to fill all the required personal, communication and educational details in the registration form. Apart from that, candidates also need to upload scanned images of photos and signatures at this stage.

Part 2: SSC CHSL Applications

Once registered, candidates need to log in to their accounts and fill out the online application form. Some of the details that candidates need to enter in the application form are educational qualification, exam centre preference etc. Once all details are filled in, candidates need to pay the SSC CHSL application fee of Rs 100 in online or offline mode.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Conditions

SSC CHSL eligibility conditions are mentioned in the official notification. The eligibility criteria that candidates need to meet to fulfil SSC CHSL eligibility 2023 are:

  • A candidate must be either a citizen of India, or
    •  A subject of Nepal/Bhutan,
    • Tibetan refugee,
    • A person of Indian origin

SSC CHSL Age Limit 2023

The eligibility conditions as given in the official notification can be summarised as follows.

A candidate must be between 18 and 27 years as of January 1, 2023.

It is expected that the Commission will provide age relaxation of three years to all candidates irrespective of their category.

SSC CHSL Qualification 2023

A candidate must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board or university

  • Candidates appearing in the Class 12 exam are also eligible to apply.

SSC CHSL Exam Pattern 2023

The Commission changed the SSC CHSL exam pattern in 2022 to expedite the recruitment process.  SSC CHSL exam is now conducted in two tiers as explained below:

  • Tier 1 is an objective exam that contains 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) of 200 marks. The exam is conducted in online mode. Candidates need to complete the paper in a duration of one hour.
  • Tier 2 is conducted in two sessions - Session I & Session II, on the same day. Session I includes:
    • Section-I
    • Section-II
    • Module-I of Section-III.

Session II includes Module II of Section III. 

The SSC CHSL Tier 2 consists of objective-type multiple choice questions (MCQs), except for Module II of Section III. The questions are set in English and Hindi languages except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II. There is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section II and Module-I of Section III.
