SSC GD Recruitment 2025: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is carrying out the SSC GD Constable Recruitment 2025 drive to fill a total of 53,690 vacancies. The SSC GD recruitment rules are mentioned in the notification containing all the important details of the recruitment process, such as exam dates, eligibility criteria, application process, exam pattern, syllabus, result process, selection criteria, cut-off details and others. The SSC GD Constable exam was held online from February 4 to 25, 2025. 

The SSC GD selection process includes three stages - Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Each SSC GD selection stage is successive to the other. Candidates are required to clear all the stages of the exam to get into the final merit list. The final merit list is prepared based on the final SSC GD result and marks secured in all the stages. For final selection, the candidate must score equal to or above the SSC GD 2025 exam cutoff. The SSC Constable recruitment usually takes over one year to complete.

SSC GD Recruitment is carried out to fill vacancies to the Central Armed Police Forces. The recruitment involves three stages:

  • Stage 1: Computer-based examination (CBE)
  • Stage 2: Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST)
  • Stage 3: Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME)

Based on the performance in all these three stages, a candidate is recruited through the SSC GD Constable recruitment drive.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conductes the SSC GD exam every year for the recruitment of Constable (General Duty) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and other forces. SSC GD Recruitment Process 2025

The Constable (General Duty) is one of the most popular exams because of its eligibility criteria and difficulty level of the exam. SSC GD recruitment process will be conducted as follows:

SSC GD 2025 Application Form

The Commission started the SSC GD online application with the release of the official notification. The candidates need to fill out the SSC GD application 2025. Most of the details in the online application form are taken from the registration itself. The candidates will be asked to select their exam centre and upload their recent photograph and signature. SSC GD application fee is INR 100.

SSC GD 2025 Application Status

The regional offices of the SSC will release the application status of the candidates who filled out the SSC GD applications. Application status only informs about the exam date. The exam centre is not mentioned in the application status. The application status is released ten days before the exam start date.

SSC GD 2025 admit card

The regional websites of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) release the admit card four days before the candidate's exam date. SSC GD admit card is the essential document to get admission to the exam centre. The candidates are required to carry one government identity proof to establish their identity when asked for.

SSC GD Computer-Based Exam

SSC GD Constable is a computer-based exam (CBE) of 100 marks. The SSC GD question paper consists of 100 objective questions that candidates need to complete in a duration of 90 minutes. The exam is conducted based on the 

SSC GD Answer Key

The Commission releases the tentative answer key within one week of the last date of exam. The candidates are asked to send objections against the incorrect question/answer. Based on the feedback sent by the candidates, the final answer key is released and the result is prepared based on the final answer key.

SSC GD Result

The Commission releases the results online only mentioning the roll number of the qualified candidates. The candidates need to check their results online only and no separate communication will be sent to the candidates. SSC GD result 2025 for CBE is released on the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. Based on their performance in CBE, candidates are shortlisted for the next stage of the exam.

SSC GD PET/PST

SSC GD Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST) are conducted at test centres finalised by CAPFs. In PET/PST, candidates must undergo physical tests such as race and other physical examinations.

Candidates are shortlisted for the Detailed Medical Examination (DME) of the SSC GD exam based on their performance in PET/PST.

Finally, candidates have to undergo a detailed medical exam (DME) conducted by CAPFs.

Final SSC GD Result

The final SSC GD result is declared by the Staff Selection Commission for candidates who qualify for all three stages of the exam. The result is declared on the basis of marks scored by candidates in CBE. It may be noted that PET/PST and DME are only qualifying in nature. 

The candidates selected in the final result are assigned to the opted forces and the states as per their preference and the vacancies.

SSC GD Eligibility Criteria 2025

Candidates can take part in the SSC GD Constable recruitment process if they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below:

  • Candidates should be citizens of India
  • Candidates should be Class 10 passed
  • Candidates should be 18 to 23 years of age

The SSC GD Constable recruitment involves three selection stages:

Q:   What is the age limit for SSC GD?
A: 

Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. The SSC GD age limit relaxation for SC category is five years, for OBC and Ex-Servicemen is three years. Refer SSC GD Eligibility Criteria for detailed age limit criteria.

Q:   Can a 10th passed student apply for SSC GD exam?
A: 
Yes, a Class 10th pass candidate can apply for the SSC GD exam. The SSC GD educational qualification is Matric/ High School/ Class 10th. However, candidates appearing in Class 10th exam are not eligible to apply for SSC GD recruitment.

SSC GD Vacancy 2025

The Staff Selection Commission will announce the vacancies for SSC GD 2025 exam in the official notification. The vacancies are released for the male and female categories separately. The tentative SSC GD vacancy 2024 is notified in the official notification and final vacancies are declared after the announcement of results. The SSC GD 2024 exam seeks to fill a total of 46,617 vacancies.

The SSC GD Constable DV/ DME 2025 dates have not been announced yet. However, it is expected that the SSC GD medical exam will start in November 2025. The CRPF will soon announce the dates for the Constable DME exam after the declaration of PET/ PST result.
