SSC GD 2026: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the tentative dates for the SSC Constable GD examination 2026. As per the dates mentioned on the SSC exam calendar 2025-2026, the notification for the Constables (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), NIA, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026 will be released in November 2025. The SSC GD notification PDF download file will be published at ssc.gov.in. The SSC GD application form 2026 will be released along with the official notification. The last date to apply online for the SSC GD Constable Exam will be December 2025. However, these dates are tentative, and the final dates will be announced in the notification PDF.

The SSC GD recruitment exam will tentatively be organised in January–February 2026 for the Constable General Duty (GD), Rifleman GD, and Sepoy posts. The SSC GD state-wise vacancy 2026 list will be released after the notification. Q:   What is the age limit for SSC GD?
A:

Candidates must be of minimum 18 years of age in order to be eligible for SSC GD exam. The upper SSC GD age limit is 23 years. However, the Commission provides a relaxation in the upper age limit for all the reserved categories such as OBC, SC, ST, ExS and others. Q:   Who is eligible for SSC GD Vacancy 2025?
A:

Candidates who have passed Class 10 exam or equivalent from a recognised board can apply for the SSC GD Vacancy 2025. Candidates should be between 18 to 23 years of age to be eligible for the SSC GD Constable 2025. The Commission can cancel the candidature of the candidate at any point if he or she do not conform to any of the eligibility condition. Candidates should go through the SSC GD Constable eligibility criteria 2025 carefully before applying online for the exam.

Q:   What is the eligibility criteria in SSC GD in terms of height?
A:

Candidates need to fulfill SSC GD physical eligibility in terms of height and weight to get shortlisted for appointment. The SSC GD height requirement is different for male and female candidates. The required SSC GD height for male is 170 cms. On the other hand, the SSC GD Physical height for female candidates is 157 cms. However, there is relaxation in SSC GE Height for SC/ST/others. The Staff Selection Commission will issue the SSC GD Constable notification 2026 online. The SSC GD notification 2026 will be released as a PDF download file on the website- ssc.gov.in. The SSC GD notification PDF contains eligibility criteria, application process, exam dates, syllabus, pattern, qualifying marks, selection process, vacancies, marks and scorecard.

Q:   What is the minimum qualification to apply for the SSC GD exam?
A:
Candidates must have passed Matriculation or 10th Class Examination from a recognised Board/ University to apply for the SSC GD exam. Candidates who have not acquired the essential educational qualification as on the stipulated date will not be eligible to fill the SSC GD application form. The result of requisite educational qualification should be declared by the Board/ Institute/ University by the specified date.
Q:   What is the SSC GD physical requirement in terms of height and weight?
A:

Yes, it is mandatory to appear for all the stages of SSC GD exam- Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET)/ Physical Standard Test (PST) and Detailed Medical Examination (DME)/ Review Medical Examination (RME). Candidates need to qualify the SSC GD CBE by obtaining the cut off marks to get shortlisted for the next round, that is, PET/ PST followed by the DME/ DV round.

SSC GD 2026 Admit Card

The SSC GD 2026 admit card will be displayed around four days before the exam on the website- ssc.gov.in for all the regions - KKR, ER, SR, CR, WR, NER, NWR and MPR. The SSC GD Constable DV/ DME 2025 dates have not been announced yet. However, it is expected that the SSC GD medical exam will start in November 2025. The CRPF will soon announce the dates for the Constable DME exam after the declaration of PET/ PST result.
