SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2026: Negative Marking & Total Marks

In the SSC GD Constable exam, a total of 80 questions are asked. Each question carries two marks and there is negative marking.

Yes, there is physical test in the SSC GD Constable exam. Candidates who clear the SSC GD exam (CBE) are called to appear for the physical test which is conducted by the CRPF. The SSC GD physical test comprises following process:

• Candidates need to fulfill SSC GD height/ weight requirement and undergo measurement of height, weight and chest as mentioned in the official notification
• Candidates need to perform a race within the given SSC GD running time limits.

SSC GD syllabus comprises the topics from which questions are asked in the exam. The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted online and comprises 80 questions from:

• General Knowledge and General Awareness
• Elementary Mathematics
• English/Hindi

The SSC GD Constable exam is conducted online as the Computer-Based Examination. However, the PET and PST are held offline as these include performing race and fulfilling the physical eligibility.

The SSC GD previous years question papers are generally released by the Commission on the registered accounts of candidates along with the answer key. There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year. The Commission makes changes in the difficulty level of the same topics asked in the exam. Moreover, the Commission may give more weight to one topic this year and another topic next year. For example, there may be more questions on the number system in 2025, and in 2026, the Mathematics section may include more questions on Algebra.
