SSC GD Exam Pattern 2026: The Staff Selection Commission prescribes SSC GD exam pattern. Candidates appearing for the exam need to be thorough with the same. This is an online exam conducted in computer-based exam (CBE) mode. SSC GD 2026 exam pattern covers the overall structure of the exam. A total of 80 questions are asked in SSC GD exam. Subjects included in the test are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics and English Language. The marks allotted to each question are two. Overall marks are 160. For wrong answers, 0.25 marks are deducted. The commission decides SSC GD exam pattern based on the nature of the posts. The SSC GD recruitment is carried out through the Computer-Based Examination (CBE), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). The SSC changed the exam pattern for the SSC GD Computer-Based Exam (CBE) in 2022 in terms of time duration, the number of questions, the total marks assigned to each question and the negative marking associated with the incorrect answers.

After clearing the SSC GD online exam, candidates are called for SSC GD PET/ PST (Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test). The SSC GD physical test is conducted by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). Go through the SSC GD running time below. SSC GD Paper Pattern 2026: Negative Marking

The SSC GD exam carries a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer. Candidates should enter the answers carefully to avoid it. The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Constable (GD) in CAPFs, SSF and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination every year for recruitment of candidates to the CAPFs including Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Secretariat Security Force (SSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), National Investigation Agency (NIA), Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and Rifleman (General Duty) in Assam Rifles.

SSC GD Physical Test Pattern for PET & PST

Based on the performance in CBT, candidates are shortlisted for PET/PST by SSC. During PET/ PST, candidates are assessed on height parameters. Those qualifying the same will have to undergo PET (race) followed by biometric/technology-aided identification.

Q:   Which is most repetitive question in SSC GD?

There are no such repetitive questions in the SSC GD Constable exam. However, the topics and types are generally the same almost every year. The Commission makes changes in the difficulty level of the same topics asked in the exam. Moreover, the Commission may give more weight to one topic this year and another topic next year. For example, there may be more questions on the number system in 2025, and in 2026, the Mathematics section may include more questions on Algebra. The tie-breaking policy of SSC GD is done when two candidates secure the same marks or positions in the exam. This done based on date of birth, marks in each section, alphabet-wise names gets higher rank.

SSC GD Constable merit list is released in PDF form by SSC. It shows the roll numbers of qualified candidates for the next round of selection process. The list is released along with the cut off marks so that candidates can check they have qualified for the physical test or final recruitment.
