The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), located in Mysore, was established in 1946. The institute is recognised by the AICTE and got autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in 2007. In addition to this, the institute is also accredited by the NAAC. In order to get a seat via this quota, students are first required to fill out the application form. Once the application is screened and reviewed, students are assigned an academic counsellor.
