IGNOU BCA & MCA Admission 2021: Eligibility, Application, Fee

IGNOU’s School of Computer and Information Sciences (SOCIS) was established in 1991 with a view to provide innovative and high-quality Computer Science education through distance-learning mode. The University offers BCA and MCA programmes at UG and PG level, respectively, and admission to both the courses is merit-based. IGNOU admission process for January 2021 cycle started in February and the last date to apply was extended till April 15. However, for IGNOU admission July cycle, the applications are currently extended till November 30. 

IGNOU Admission Dates 2021

IGNOU admission cycle for January intake generally ends in February every year, however, due to the ongoing pandemic, the University extended its application dates. The complete schedule regarding IGNOU admission dates 2021 is as follows:

IGNOU Admission 2021: BCA, MCA

The minimum duration to complete BCA and MCA programmes is three years and the maximum is six years. There is no age bar to pursue these courses.

• Selection criteria: Merit-based
• Course fee for BCA: Rs 42,000
• Course fee for MCA: Rs 48,000
