Do's for the AMU entrance exam day

Candidates should be careful of the following instructions on the exam day: 

Reporting at the exam centre 

  • Candidates should reach the exam centre at least an hour before the exam timings and, report directly to the exam centre with their required documents.
  • Follow the instructions as told by the exam authorities regarding the seating arrangements.
  • Leave baggage or any belonging outside the exam centre only. 

Admit card and other documents

  • Candidates should carry a printed copy of their admit card issued to them for appearing in AMU 2022 entrance exam.
  • Candidates need to download the admit card from at official website of the university at least a day prior to the exam date.
  • Paste a recent passport size photograph (as uploaded during the application form fillup) at the space provided on the admit card of AMU Entrance Exam 2022.
  • In case of any discrepancy related to the admit card, candidates should get it rectified by the exam authority at least two days before the as it will not be facilitated at the exam centre on the test day.

Things allowed to carry inside the exam centre

  • Candidates should carry a valid ID proof with their photograph in original as well as a copy. The allowed ID proofs are - Voter ID, Aaadhaar Card, Passport copy, Drivers License or School ID as issued. 
  • Candidates should carry their own stationery items such as ballpoint pen (blue or blank color), an HB pencil etc. 
  • Candidates can carry their own water bottles inside the examination hall.

Admit Card and Exam Centre for Departmental Tests

  • The admit card of Departmental Tests will be issued at the concerned department only and, candidates can obtain it at least two days before the examination.
  • The exam centre for AMU department tests will be in Aligarh only.

Don'ts for the AMU entrance exam day

Below are some of the 'strictly now allowed' things that candidates should be careful of on the test day: 

Reporting the test centre late 

  • Candidates who will report the exam centre after the starting of the test will not be allowed inside the examination hall in any case. 
  • The exam centre official will not allow entry at least 15 minutes before the test timings 

Things not allowed inside the exam centre

  • Candidates should not carry any prohibited items such as mobile phone, calculators, headphones, watch inside the exam centre.
  • Candidates are not allowed to bring any eatables inside the examination hall.
  • Candidates are not allowed to use whiteners or any kind of correction fluid to remove the answers on OMR sheet.

Not carrying admit card or photo ID proof

  • Candidates have to carry the admit card as issued to them along with the documents, and if these are missing then they will not be allowed to take the examination. 
  • Candidates cannot show the admit card on their mobile phones, it is required as a hard copy for authenticated and submitted to the invigilators.
  • Moreover, the admit card without photograph pasted on it will not be considered valid. 

Not maintaining discipline inside the examination hall

  • Candidates should occupy their allotted seats only in the examination hall or their admission will be cancelled.
  • Candidates should avoid any unfair practices of taking the examination.
  • They should not discuss or talk to other candidates during the examination.
  • Candidates will not be allowed to leave the examination hall before the test ends unless there is a medical emergency. 

Important Instructions for taking the exam 

While taking the exam, candidates should be careful of the following:

Starting the test 

  • Candidates will be given the OMR sheet at least 15 minutes first as the exam timing begins, and they need to fill the particular on the OMR sheet as required.
  • The question paper will be given 15 minutes after the exam timings and, the test duration will be calculated after the distribution of question papers. Exam timings will be mentioned in the question paper accordingly.

Filling OMR sheet 

  • Before starting the examination, candidates have to fill details such as Name, the question paper number, roll number, application number, centre code, question paper set code, status (internal/ external) and put a signature at the specified spot.
  • To attempt a question, candidates need to mark only the correct option by filling the circle completely. 
  • The ink should remain inside the circle and, it should be completely filled. 
  • Filling multiple circles will be considered the same as incorrect attempt and consequently, deduction of 0.25 marks per question attempted wrong.
  • Candidates should not write anything on the question paper or sides of the OMR sheet.

Ending the exam

  • Candidates have to submit their answer sheets, question paper and admit card to the invigilator after completion of the exam. 
  • Candidates are not allowed to take the question paper with them. 

Scribe for PWD Candidates

  • Candidates who are visually challenged will be provided Scribe facility on submitting a request to the university at least seven days before the examination.
  • The scribe will be given at least 30 minutes extra time or 25% of total exam duration to attempt the examination for the candidate.

Q:   How many seats are offered for AMU BSc course?
A:

Aligarh Muslim University offers a three-year full-time BSc course at the undergraduate level. Apart from the BSc course, the University also offers BSc (Hons) courses. AMU admission to the BSc course is based on candidates' performance in an entrance test conducted by the University. The total seat intake for the AMU BSc course is approximately 1260. Q:   Are there multiple attempts for the AMU B.Tech Entrance Exam like JEE?
A:

The Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) conducts its own engineering entrance exam called the AMUEEE (Aligarh Muslim University Engineering Entrance Exam) for admission into its BTech programme. As per the official information brochure, there is no limit to the number of attempts for the AMUEEE exam. Candidates can appear for the exam as many times as they wish to improve their score and chances of admission. However, it is important to note that candidates must meet the eligibility criteria set by the university for appearing in the exam, such as age limit, educational qualifications, etc. Before applying for the exam.

Q:   What is the total seat intake for AMU MBA course?
A:

The Aligarh Muslim University provides MBA course on its main campus as well as at AMU Centers in Malappuram, Murshidabad and Kishanganj. Each campus has a seat intake of 60. Q:   What is the minimum eligibility criteria for AMU B.P.Ed admission?
A:

For Aligarh Muslim University B.P.Ed admission, candidates must have passed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50% and have at least participation in the InterCollege/Inter-Zonal / District / School competition in sports and games as recognised by the AIU/ IOA / SGFI / Govt. of India. Students with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education with 45% marks or Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with 45% marks and studied physical education as a compulsory elective subject are also eligible for AMU B.P.Ed admission. 

Q:   What is the minimum eligibility requirement for AMU MBA course?
A:

Aligarh Muslim University offers an MBA (General), MBA in Hospital Administration, MBA in Islamic Banking & Finance and MBA in International Business at the postgraduate level for a duration of two years each. AMU admission to all these courses is completely entrance-based and depends' on candidates' performance in CAT or an online written test, conducted by the University. Candidates seeking admission to any of the above-mentioned AMU MBA courses must have passed graduation in any discipline with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

To get a seat at AMU for the MBBS course, candidates must appear for the NEET UG entrance exam. Aspirants with a valid NEET UG score are then required to appear for the NEET UG counselling. Based on both the score and counselling, seat allotment will be announced for the students.

To get a seat in the BBA couse at Aligarh Muslim University, candidates need to appear for the AMU entrance exam. In order to get a seat alloted to them, candidates need to score above the cutoff set for BBA course during Aligarh Muslim University course admissions.

No, candidates cannot apply for BBA admissions at AMU in offline mode. The institute only accepts the BBA admission form submissions in online mode via its admission portal. Any other form of submission is considered invalid for Aligarh Muslim University course admissions.

Yes, the BBA admissions at AMU are still open for the academic year 2026. Candidates who wish to apply for AMU BBA course must do so before February 28th 2026.

If the candidate's have not received their Class 12 board exam result, they are still capable of completing the BBA admission process.
