The MHCET Law exam pattern is released by the State Common Entrance Cell, Maharashtra, for the five-year and 3-year LLB programmes along with the MHCET 2026 notification. For effective exam preparation, the MH CET Law exam pattern should be referred to thoroughly. 

The exam pattern for MHCET Law refers to the overall pattern of the MHCET Law question paper, which includes the type of questions asked in the exam, syllabus, weightage and marking scheme. General Knowledge and Current Affairs section is the most important section in the MH CET Law question paper. These sections test candidates' awareness of current events and a variety of academic subjects. The weightage of this section is 40.

Q:   What is the revised MH Law CET syllabus?
A: 

The syllabus for the MH CET law exam has topics from Legal Aptitude and reasoning, GK and current affairs, Logical and analytical reasoning, English language and basic mathematics. Candidates will have to study about legal principles, reasoning skills, and applying laws to scenarios. From GK section, questions from national & international events, politics, science, and legal developments will also be asked.

From the reasoning section, pattern and problem solving abilities will be analysed, and questions from geometry, ratios, percentages will be asked. 

Q:   What is the duration of MHCET Law?
A: 

MH CET Law exam lasts for 2 hours. The test held online in computer-based mode. You must answer 150 questions in that time. Each question carries one mark, and there is no negative marking. Manage time well because once timer ends, paper auto submits.

Q:   What is the revised MH CET Law exam Pattern?

The State Common Entrance Cell, Maharashtra has released the revised exam pattern of the MH CET Law 2025 for the five-year and 3-year LLB programmes. The exam authority changed the total number of questions to be asked to 120 from 150.

Three year LLB programme entrance exam has Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning, General Knowledge with Current Affairs, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, English. Same subjects for the five-year LLB course as well but with Mathematical Aptitude as well. 

Q:   Will the question paper of MH CET Law be in Marathi?
A: 

Yes, as per the previous year notification, you can choose to answer the MHCET law question paper in Marathi. The examination cell allows applicants to choose either English or Marathi. During the application process, can will be able to fill the preferred language. 

Q:   What is weightage of each section in MHCET Law?
A: 

MH CET Law exam has five main sections. Each part carries different marks. English includes 30 questions, General Knowledge and Current Affairs 40, Legal Aptitude 40, Logical Reasoning 30, and Basic Mathematics 10 (for 5-year LLB only). Total marks 150. Every question gives one mark, no negative marking.

Q:   What is MH CET Law Normalization Method to calculate scores?
A: 

Normalization process is an established practice for comparing candidate scores across multiple shift papers. There are possibilities of different level of difficulties in each shift for the same exam, however to tackle this scenario, the Normalization Method will be used to calculate the MH CET Law 3-year and 5-year LLB results.

Step 1: Candidates would be distributed into four sessions randomly so that each session has approximately equal number of candidates. Suppose: Session-1: Day-1 Batch 1 (D1-B1), Session-2: Day-1 Batch-2 (D1-B2), Session-3: Day-1 Batch 3 (D1-B3).

Step-2: The examination results for each session would be prepared in the form of Raw Scores.

Total Percentile (TP) = 100 X No. of candidates appeared from the session with raw score equal to or less than T1 score

                               Total No. of Candidates appeared for the session

Step-3: The Percentile scores for the Total Raw Score for all the four sessions (Session- 1: Day-1 Batch 1-1, Session-2: Day-1 batch-2 and Session-3: Day-1 Batch-3 as calculated in Step-2 above would be merged and shall be called the CET Percentile scores which will then be used for compilation of result.

The Percentile of all four sessions will be calculated separately for the total raw score.

As per the initial student reaction, the MHCET Law 2026 3-year LLB entrance exam was of an Easy to Moderate difficulty level. The English section was easy and less questions were asked from the current affairs section this year.

SGBAU MH CET Law cutoff 2025 was 76.78 for the BA LLB course in the 3rd round. In 2024 and 2023, the cutoff was 35.86 and 55, respectively. As per these cutoff ranks, we can see that the cutoff trend has seen fluctuation.
