AIBE Application Form 2022: The Bar Council of India (BCI) will commence the online application form of AIBE 2022 tentatively in September. The AIBE (17) 2022 registration form will be available at; the direct link will also be updated on this page. The application form of AIBE examination is provided in online mode only. As part of the basic AIBE 2022 eligibility criteria for filling out the application form, the candidate must also be registered with a state bar council, and they will need the enrollment number to register for the exam. The AIBE 2022 application fee is INR 3500 for general/ OBC candidates and INR 2,500 for SC/ST candidates. Candidates who have completed their 3-year or 5-year LLB courses can appear in the AIBE XVII 2022 exam. Upon qualification in the exam, candidates will be awarded the “Certificate of Practice” which is required to practice in a court of law.

How to Apply for AIBE (XVII) 2022?

The application form for AIBE 2022 can be filled in online mode only as per the simple steps below:

Step 1: AIBE (XVII) 17 Registration

Visit the official website of AIBE - Click on the Registration link. The AIBE registration page will appear as under:

Enter any two of the below-mentioned details: Candidates need to enter the following details in the online registration form: 

  • Enrollment state
  • Enrollment number
  • Year of enrollment  

Click on the checkbox for acknowledgment and 'Accept' button to register and proceed with the application process.

Step 2: Fill AIBE Application Form

The application form will appear on the screen as under: 

Candidates need to fill the personal information in the form:

  • Name
  • Gender
  • Father’s/husband’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Permanent address
  • Email ID
  • Mobile number

Also, they need to provide their academic qualification details as under:

  • Name of the college
  • The course duration of LLB
  • Graduation stream
  • Admission year and pass out year of the LLB degree
  • Master's degree/any other qualification (if available)
  • Enrollment number (as mentioned in enrollment certificate)

Once all details are filled in, candidates need to click on the Next button.

Next, register a valid E-mail Id to receive AIBE 17 Registration Number and Password on it 

Step 3: Upload Documents

Further, log in again with the provided ID and password and upload the documents mentioned below:

Step 4: Select Test Language & Test Centre

Next, aspirants need to fill in details such as Candidate type (Fresh or Repeat student), Category (General/OBC/SC/ST), and also mention if they have any disability. Further, candidates need to give three preferences from the list of AIBE 2022 test cities. Also, aspirants need to select the AIBE question paper language from:

  1. Assamese
  2. Bengali
  3. English
  4. Gujarati
  5. Hindi
  6. Kannada
  7. Marathi
  8. Oriya
  9. Punjabi
  10. Tamil
  11. Telugu

Step 5: Application Fee Payment 

The application fee of AIBE XVI can be paid in online mode via credit card/debit card/internet banking or offline mode by using the SBI bank challan at the nearest branch. Candidates can download the auto-generated bank challan of SBI Bank as per their selected reserved category. They have to visit their nearest SBI branch at least 24 hours after AIBE registration to pay the application fee. The application fee can be paid in cash along with bank charges as under:

The fee challan will have three copies - one for the bank, one for BCI, and one for the candidates. The bank official will keep their copy and BCI's copy, and handover, the remaining copy to the candidates with their stamp, journal number, and bank code. 

Step 6: Fee Payment Status and Uploading Challan

Candidates need to visit the official website of AIBE again after they have deposited the application fees at the SBI branch at least after 24 hours. They need to upload their SBI Bank Challan and fill up details like journal number, branch code, and date of payment receipt. 

Step 7: Application Form Submission 

Candidates have to download their submitted application form once all the steps above are complete. Candidates need not send the hardcopy of the AIBE XIV application form to the official address, as it needs to be submitted in online mode only. However, the candidates need to download it for future references.

How to Retrieve AIBE Registration ID & Password

In case, any registered candidate has forgotten his/her AIBE registration ID and password, s/he can retrieve it on the official website of the exam. The steps to retrieve registration ID and password are as follows:

Step 1: Visit the official website -

Step 2: Click on the Find Registration Id and Password (AIBE-XVII) link.

Step 3: Enter the following credentials:

  • Registration ID or mobile number
  • Date of birth

Step 4: Click on the Submit button.   

Step 5: Save the details appeared on the screen.

AIBE Registration 2022: Important Points to Note:

While filling the AIBE registration and application form, candidates should keep a note of the following points:

  • Candidates should meet the prescribed AIBE eligibility criteria
  • All documents to be uploaded should be self-attested by candidates
  • Any document without self-attestation will be rejected by BCI
  • Candidates do not need to send any document by post to BCI
  • It is important that candidates keep a printout of the duly-filled and submitted application form with themselves for reference
  • BCI does not provide online application correction window. In case of any discrepancy in the information entered in the application form, candidates have to e-mail it to BCI to get it rectified. 

AIBE Eligibility Criteria 2022

Candidates are eligible to apply online for AIBE if they fulfill the below-mentioned parameters:

  • Possess an LLB degree
  • Enrolled as advocates with State Bar Councils

Age limit: There is no age restriction for the exam. This means that candidates belonging to any age group are eligible to appear for the exam. 

AIBE Admit Card 2022

The Bar Council of India will issue AIBE (16) admit card only to candidates successfully registered for the exam. Candidates whose AIBE applications remain incomplete in any way will not be able to appear for the exam. 

The AIBE admit card will carry all important details regarding the candidate (name, roll number, photo, signature) and the exam (date, time, centre address, reporting time, exam day instructions). Candidates have to appear for the AIBE exam only as per the details mentioned in the admit card.  

FAQs for AIBE Application Form

Q. When will the AIBE 2022 application form open? 

A: The AIBE (17) registration process will begin in September tentatively. The Bar Council has invited tenders from national-level testing agency to conduct the bar examination from this year onwards. The last date of AIBE conduct tender has been extended till August 20, therefore, the application forms will be delayed.

Q. What is the last date for the AIBE application fee payment?

A. The last date for AIBE 2022 application fee payment will be confirmed once the exam notification is released, in September.

Q: How much is the application fee to apply for AIBE 2022? 

A: The application fee for AIBE is INR 3,560 for General/OBC including PWD candidates belonging to both categories. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST (including PWD candidates of the categories) need to pay INR 2,560. 

Q: How to register for AIBE 2022?

A: Candidates can register for AIBE in online mode only through the official website link provided above on this page. Candidates need to upload documents such as their Photograph, Signature, Self-Attested Enrollment Certificate and Self-Attested Photo ID with their AIBE XVII application form.

Q: Is there an offline application form available for AIBE 2022? 

A: No, BCI will accept the application process including registration and form submission completely online. Candidates can only pay the application fee in offline mode using SBI challan; an online payment option is also available. 

Q. When will the AIBE 2022 exam be conducted?

A. The AIBE XVII exam will be conducted by a testing agency on behalf of the Bar Council of India (BCI) within next three months, i.e. before Novemeber 2022.

Q: Do I need to apply again for AIBE 2022 if I already applied for AIBE 16 but failed the examination? 

A: Yes, candidates applying for AIBE 17 will be considered as fresh applicants if they have already appeared for the bar examination and could not qualify it. 

Q: How many times is AIBE exam conducted in a year? 

A: AIBE exam is usually conducted once a year. 

Q: How can I correct my details in AIBE application form?

A: Candidates can correct details on AIBE 2022 application form before submission only. For corrections in already submitted application forms, candidates have to write a mail to BCI requesting the corrections along with the application number. 

Q: Is there any fee concession provided to reserved categories for AIBE application form? 

A: The reserved categories i.e. Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes, PWD candidates of SC/ ST category will get a concession of INR 1,000 on the application fee i.e. they only need to pay INR 2,500 as the application fee. Whereas, the candidates from unreserved categories need to pay INR 3,500. In addition, there is a bank charge of INR 60.

Q: I filled incorrect details in AIBE application form. Will I get an application fee refund if I apply again? 

A: No, BCI will not refund any fee to candidates. Candidates need not apply again if they have filled incorrect details in the application form. They just need to write a mail to request application details correction to BCI.

Q: Do I also need to apply at my state bar council for appearing in AIBE? 

A: No, candidates need not apply separately to their enrolled state bar councils. AIBE 2022 application form is common for lawyers all over India.

Q: Who is eligible for AIBE exam?

A: All candidates who hold a three-year LLB or five-year LLB degree are eligible to appear for the AIBE exam. However, along with this, candidates should also be enrolled as advocates with their respective State Bar Councils.

Q: How many attempts can I take for AIBE exam?

A: There is no restriction on the number of attempts you can take for AIBE exam. This means you can appear for AIBE exam innumerable times if you are eligible for it.
