MH CET Law 5-year LLB Latest Updates

MH CET Law 5-year LLB 2026: Maharashtra State CET Cell has released a revised schedule for MH CET Law 2026 5 Year LLB CAP Round 1 counselling. The authority has released Round 1 seat allotment 2026 result. Candidates can view and download their seat allotment letter at llb5cap26.mahacet.org. Students will need their registered email ID and password to download seat allotment result PDF. MH CET Law 2026 5 Year LLB Counselling Round 1 College reporting will take place from August 19 to August 21, 2026. Only students who exercised MH CET Law 5-year LLB CAP Round 1 college option form filling has been allotted a college seat.

Students can either choose Freeze or Betterment option. Candidates who choose seat Freeze option will have to report to allotted college. Candidates must note that the MH CET Law Counselling is done online only. The State CET Cell will soon release round-wise important dates related to the MH CET 5-year LLB programmes via an MHCET Law Notification 2026 PDF. MH CET 5-year LLB 2026 Counselling Process

MH CET Law 2026 CAP process includes counselling registration by candidates, document verification, choice-locking, seat allocation, and confirmation of admission by the candidates. Once CAP registration process is completed, CET Cell Maharashtra releases provisional merit lists for MH CET 5-year LLB program. The MH CET Law seat allotment is issued after merit list is published.  

During the counselling process, candidates, before accepting their seats, have the option to ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ their choices.

• Betterment option: If candidates are not satisfied with the allotted colleges, they can choose the ‘Betterment’ option. Candidates exercising this option are eligible to appear in the subsequent counselling rounds. In case they are not offered seats, they can choose the previously allotted college.  
• Freeze option- Candidates can exercise ‘Freeze’ option to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. They will accept the allotted college and pay the admission fee. Such candidates will not be considered for further counselling rounds.

In a case where candidates secure the same rank or marks, the following method of tie-breaking is applied:

• Candidates with a higher percentage of marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam are given preference in the merit list
• Candidates securing a higher percentage of marks in the first language in Class 12
• Candidates with a high percentage of marks in Class 10
• A higher percentage of marks in English in Class 10 or equivalent exam

Candidates who successfully register for the CAP Round for Law CET Maharashtra are then invited to participate in the MH CET LLB 5-year Counselling Process. The MAH CET Law examination releases alphabetical and final merit lists after each round. In the process, candidates get an option to ‘Float’ or ‘Freeze’. Once the candidate freezes the college for admission, they need to get their documents verified and confirm the seat by paying the admission fee.
