The Maharashtra CET Cell conducts the MH CET Law Entrance Exam for 3-year and 5-year LLB courses offered by participating universities. The MH CET LLB 5-year registration process 2026 for 5-year LLB started from January 9, 2026. Candidates can fill the MH CET LLB 5-year Application Form 2026 on December 24, 2026. The MH CET 2026 3-year LLB Registration Process began on January 8, 2026. Candidates will be able to apply until March 05, 2026.
The CET Cell released all the important dates related to the MH CET 5-year LLB programmes in the MHCET Law Notification 2026. The exam for both 5-year and 3-year LLB courses will be held in pen-and-paper mode. MHCET Law 5-year LLB exam date 2026 May 8, 2026 (tentative). Candidates who wish to appear for the MHCET Law Exam 2026 must fill the application form on or before the last date. What After MH CET Law 5-year LLB 2026 Counselling Registration?
Candidates who will successfully register for the CAP Round for Law CET Maharashtra will then be invited to participate in the MH CET LLB 5-year Counselling Process. The MAH CET Law examination cell will release the alphabetical and final merit list after each round. In the process, candidates will have an option to ‘Float’ or ‘Freeze’. Once the candidate freezes the college for admission, they will have to get their documents verified and confirm the seat by paying the admission fee.
MH CET 5-year LLB 2026 Counselling Process
MH CET Law 2026 CAP process includes counselling registration by candidates, document verification, choice-locking, seat allocation, and confirmation of admission by the candidates. Once the CAP process completes, the CET Cell Maharashtra will releases provisional merit lists for MH CET 5-year LLB program. The MH CET Law seat allotment is done once the merit list is published.
During the counselling process, candidates before accepting their seats have the option to ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ their choices.
- Float option- If candidates are not satisfied with the allotted colleges, they can choose the ‘Float’ option. Candidates exercising this option are eligible for appearing in the subsequent counselling rounds. In case they are not offered seats, they can choose the previously allotted college.
- Freeze option- Candidates can exercise ‘Freeze’ option to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. They will accept the allotted college and pay the admission fee. Such candidates will not be considered for further counselling rounds.

The MH CET 5-year LLB cutoff 2026 will be calculated based on the following factors:

MH CET 5-year LLB 2026 Tie-Breaking Method
In a case where candidates secure the same rank or marks, the following method of tie-breaking is applied:
- Candidates with a higher percentage of marks in Class 12 or equivalent exam are given preference in the merit list
- Candidates securing higher percentage of marks in the first language in Class 12
- Candidates with a high percentage of marks in Class 10
- A higher percentage of marks in English in Class 10 or equivalent exam
