Getting admission in Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), in my opinion, is easier when compared to other management entrance exams, including CAT, MAT and XAT. So, along with other MBA entrance exams, you can prepare for TISSNET, too.
The only uncertain topic of this exam is General Knowledge. That means some year the level of GK is easy but some year the level is too high. So, be focused on current affairs.
For this exam, you can focus mainly on Class 9th and 10th Math books to study Quantitative Ability and Logical Reasoning. For the purpose of General Knowledge, you should study newspapers. According to the past trend analysis, most of the questions in the quantitative ability were from arithmetic. So, focus more on the arithmetic section. In terms of verbal ability, focus more on Reading Comprehension and Vocabulary.

According to many experts, most difficult sections out of the three sections General Awareness is the most difficult section.
General Awareness section consists of 40 percent weightage. And as we all know that there is no fixed syllabus of TISSNET. And it’s my advice to you that do not join any coaching institute for this exam. If you are preparing for some exams such as CAT, etc., then it will be prepared easily. The only thing that you have to prepare extra is General Awareness. Solving mock papers will be far better than studying any reference books and it will be scoring, too.
The GD topics will be directly from the contemporary issues in the field of Social works, Should HR be an Emotional guy, current Banking scams, Current Economic Conditions, monetary policy issues, etc. Kindly note that there will be a written type test also. In that written test, questions will be directly related to analyzing the thoughts. In terms of the interview, you have to be genuine and practical. You have to show your confidence. Questions will there to check your interpersonal skills, your aggressiveness, etc. They will try to check your thoughts related to the current issues happening in the world and India.
