With only three days left to Common Admission Test (CAT) exam, scheduled for November 24, Kumar shares some key tips that will help you be well-prepared for the day.

It is a known fact that there are limited seats in top management schools up for grab which are available to aspirants who appear for CAT exam. This means every aspirant needs to be well-prepared given the competition ahead. Here’s what you could do:

  • For the last minute preparation, one important thing that you could do is practice mock tests. Last year, many students, who got selected in these of the reputed institutions told were of the view that preparation through mock test was quite helpful. The more you will solve, the more you will learn better. Many of the people start preparing through mock test three months before CAT exams but practicing through Mock test one week before the exam is helpful, too. There are few changes in the examination pattern this year for which mock tests were released on the official website.
  • Last-week preparations, in my opinion, are crucial. You should focus on stronger areas, revise the important topics that you have already covered. Don’t concentrate on newer topics now, it will make you more confused. Conceptual topics that you have already covered should be revised again. Start revising from basics.
  • Practice more to increase the speed of solving the questions. In the last days of preparation, instead of going to coaching, you should focus more on self-study.
  • On the exam day, you should solve as much as questions you know to score more. Do not try those questions the answers of which are making you confused because confusion creates negativity. There are three sections, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Reasoning Comprehension and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning in the exam. Questions are divided into 34, 34 and 32 out of 100 questions of 300 marks.
  • This year IIM Kozhikode is conducting the test, so it is better for you to check the levels of different IIMs that had already conducted CAT exam. Kindly note that there is one more section in the examination is being added this year that is Non- MCQ section ( Non-penalty). So, prepare well.

At Lovely Professional University, you can take admission in BTech CSE through their own test called LPUNEST or based on your 12th marks.

JEE is not compulsory, but if you have a good JEE score, it can help you get admission and scholarship.
