NIELIT Ropar, along with its 11 branches across India, offers Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees in advanced fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductor Technologies, and Drone Technology.

NIELIT Deemed to Be University Vice Chancellor and Director General Prof. M. M. Tripathi during a press meet in New Delhi said that the university is setting a benchmark in higher education by offering a flexible education system with a multiple entry-exit framework, integrating formal and non-formal systems. The institution emphasizes a student-centered learning environment supported by a robust digital ecosystem, including virtual labs, immersive content, and AI-driven personalized learning solutions.

Officially declared as a Deemed to Be University on July 15, 2024, NIELIT Ropar, along with its 11 constituent units, offers a wide range of programs including Ph.D., Master’s, and Bachelor’s degrees in advanced fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Semiconductor Technologies, and Drone Technology. Designed in collaboration with industry leaders, the curriculum ensures job readiness with mandatory internships, industrial projects, and entrepreneurial skill development.

NIELIT Ropar has 11 constituent units - Aizawl, Agartala, Aurangabad, Calicut, Gorakhpur, Imphal, Kohima, Patna, Srinagar, Kekri, and Itanagar.

The VC of NIELIT Prof Tripathi informed that with an ambitious vision to skill over 3.7 million students in emerging technologies within the next five years, NIELIT Deemed to Be University aims to bridge the digital divide and empower a new generation of thinkers, innovators, and leaders. These initiatives aim to ensure accessibility for students from Tier-II and Tier-III cities, rural areas, and the North Eastern states.

As per a statement issued by the university, with an ambitious vision to skill over 3.7 million students in emerging technologies over the next five years, the university, led by Vice Chancellor and Director General Prof. M. M. Tripathi, seeks to bridge the digital divide and nurture a new generation of innovators and leaders. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, NIELIT aims to revolutionize higher technical education by blending innovation with inclusivity.

NIELIT has been granted the status of Deemed to Be University, making it the first university under the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). The institution's establishment reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of equipping professionals with cutting-edge technological skills.
