Chandigarh University Admission 2021: Highlights

The University offers BSc and BSc (Hons) programmes at the UG level. Admission to both courses is based on a valid CUCET score. A few important details regarding Chandigarh University BSc admissions are mentioned below:

Chandigarh University Admission Dates 2021

Chandigarh University BSc admissions are conducted via CUCET. The exam takes place in three phases, which are mentioned below:

  1. CUCET-I: Gold Phase (December to August)
  2. CUCET-II: Silver Phase (January to April)
  3. CUCET-III: Bronze Phase (May to July)

Apart from general BSc, the University also offers BSc (Hons) in two specislialisations. Admission to the programme is based on a candidate's valid CUCET score. The specialisation-wise eligibility criteria is mentioned below:

Chandigarh University Application Process 2021

Chandigarh University's application process is held online as well as offline. Candidates can either apply online through the official website of CU (www.cuchd.in) or may download the Chandigarh University application form through the official website and send it to the admission office. The application fee for all the programmes is Rs 1,000. The step-wise Chandigarh University application process is shown below:

Step 1: Visit the official website of CU and click on 'Apply Online' appearing on the screen.

Step 2: Register with your name, email address, mobile number, etc., to create login credentials.

Step 3: Acknowledge the mail in your inbox and login with the same credentials.

Step 4: Enter the details of the programme that you are aiming to apply for, followed by academic qualifications.

Step 5: Fill in the information as prompted on the screen, including city, last qualification, corresponding address, etc.

Step 6: Pay the application fee of Rs 1,000 to appear for CUCET via credit card/ debit card/ UPI/ net banking.

Step 7: Select the CUCET exam date and centre from the available options.

  • Date of birth certificate
  • Passport-size photograph
  • Transfer certificate

Chandigarh University Scholarships 2021

Chandigarh University has a loan assistance cell that enables the students to take loans from banks with which it has tie-ups. The University also offers financial aid and various scholarship schemes to all the students aspiring to pursue UG and PG courses at CU. Besides, students are encouraged to seek financial help from a government-run education loan portal 'Vidya Lakshmi', which is a single platform for availing loan information regarding 34 banks.

Mentioned below are the Chandigarh University scholarships offered under different categories:

1. COVID-19 Warriors Scholarship Scheme

The University has introduced a 10% reservation of seats in all the UG and PG programmes for the wards of COVID-19 warriors, such as policemen, doctors, nurses, media professionals, etc. Scholarships worth Rs 5 crore would be disbursed and a fee rebate of 10% will be offered to the students admitted under this scheme.

2. CUCET Scholarship

The University's common entrance exam CUCET comes with double benefits. Apart from the admission offer, CU disburses scholarships worth Rs 33 crore to the meritorious students under this scheme. The phase-wise details of this scholarship are as follows:

3. Merit Scholarship Schemes

The Merit-based Scholarship is designed for meritorious students who are able to gain an outstanding level of academic achievement in their previous years. Click here to know more.

4. Scholarship scheme for the wards of Defence Personnel

CU offers Armed Forces Educational Welfare Scheme (AFEWS) for the wards or spouse of the Defence Personnel. Under this scheme, five per cent of seats in all courses are reserved for the wards and spouses of Defence Martyrs and their immediate dependent members. Those admitted under this scheme are also given the benefit of freeship in prescribed semester fees. Concessions are applicable as follows:

Defence officers in service, who want to pursue a course during their study leave, are separately offered one per cent seats subject to a minimum of one seat in each course. A fee concession of 20% is also given per semester fee.

5. Scholarship for the family members of Chandigarh University staff

The wards/ spouse of CU staff, who has worked for a minimum of one year at the University, are offered 50% concession in academic fees. It continues until the staff member is working with the University.
