CUCET Prep Tips and Guide
One should keep a few points in mind and how they should go about their preparation methods. Understand that many students who have appeared for CUCET in the past have found the question paper challenging and many students have wasted time pondering over questions which they did not study for. It is imperative to get your head in the game and get to your studies straight away.
Know the Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme: The first point one should know is the CUCET exam pattern and marking scheme. One should know the number of questions which will be asked, the number of sections which will be there, will the exam format be in MCQs or long descriptive answers, will there be negative marking or not. Once a candidate knows the exam pattern and marking scheme, they will know the blueprint for the exam and there will not be any confusion on the main day of the entrance exam.
Know the CUCET Course Syllabus: It is important for one to stick to the prescribed syllabus for the course you have opted. The main aim should be to cover the CUCET syllabus on time so that you have time to revise and be ready for the exam day. In order to help you better understand the syllabus, purchase one or two prep books in order to help you understand the subjects and chapters better.
Get Prep Books and Guides: To know more about the chapters and subjects in a clearer way, the candidate can purchase prep books if they feel the need to do so. You can understand the subjects better and gain more knowledge about the course. However, purchase prep books which are known and used by students. The best way to know which ones is by reading the reviews, asking your professors and teachers which books are better. Also, purchase prep books which have sample papers which you can solve.
Solve Sample Papers and Questions Papers: One should test themselves by solving sample papers and previous years’ question papers. You will come to know about the type of questions that are asked, the sections in the question paper, the marking scheme and much more. Also, try and attempt the paper within the set duration. Test yourself. Through this, you will know your strengths and weaknesses. Where you lag behind, which subjects need more understanding, which questions you can solve easily.
Revision: Before moving to the next chapter, one should always revise what they have learnt. Jot down points as you go along as it will help you understand the chapter better and the points noted down will help you understand and remember the topics later on. Also, summarize your points so that you can remember the topics before the main day.
Don’t Be Lazy: Here’s one point which you need to follow, do not be lazy, do not be lethargic, and get your act together. The last month is a crucial time and one needs to be committed, focused, dedicated and will have to put in a lot of effort in order to ace the exams. Get proper rest as you need an energized mind to study, take breaks to refresh yourself, however, refrain from things which distract you such as your smartphones and television. You can catch up on your binge-watching once the entrance exam has been conducted, but in order to secure admission and clear the entrance exam, hard work is required.
