Yes, IIT Madras is known as a tier 1 college. IIT Madras is known as an 'Institute of Eminence'. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (Chennai IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical & research university. Kerala University was founded in 1937 and one of the first 16 universities in Indian. The university is recognised by the UGC and accredited by NAAC A+ Grade.  The university appoints well-trained and expert faculty members.
