The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 is expected to be conducted in the third week of March 2026. The Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar, will release the OUAT Entrance Exam application form along with the notification and information bulletin. The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 will be conducted over a window of two days, in the first week of June. It is a computer-based test of two hours' duration. 

According to the OUAT Entrance Exam Pattern, there are four sections, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology. Out of this, Physics and Chemistry are compulsory to attempt, and the third section has to be either Mathematics or Biology. The OUAT Entrance Exam is conducted once a year, and it is a state-level entrance exam for those who are seeking admission into undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD programs in forestry, agriculture, veterinary sciences, and allied disciplines. 

To be eligible for the OUAT Entrance Exam 2026, students should have passed Class 12 Board exam or equivalent exam in the Science stream. with minimum 50 per cent marks in aggregate. The OUAT entrance exam stands for Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology Entrance Exam. OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The exam conducting authority will provide the OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria along with the release of the information bulletin or prospectus. The eligibility criteria is expected to be the same as last year. The basic criterion to be eligible for the OUAT 2026 Entrance Exam is that students should have passed Class 12 Board exam or equivalent in Science stream. The aggregate percentage varies according to the candidate category.

The course-wise eligibility criteria or the subject combination which students should have studied in Class 11 and 12 are given in the table below.

The minimum qualification for admission to the above courses is given below.

  • Candidates belonging to unreserved categories (UR) should secure minimum 50 per cent aggregate marks in PCM, PCB or PCMB.
  • Candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PWD), Prime Minister Special Scholarship Scheme (PMSSS), Kashmiri Migrant, Kashmiri Pandit (Non Migrant), Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non Migrant), have to secure minimum 40 per cent marks in aggregate. 
  • For Agro-Polytechnic students, the minimum aggregate should be 45 per cent for UR category and 40 per cent for the Reserved category candidates. 

Additional OUAT entrance exam BSc eligibility criteria are mentioned below.

  1. Cleared HSC or equivalent examination with Odia as Modern Indian Language (MIL).
  2. Candidates who do not have Odia as MIL but their parents are permanent residents of Odisha need to furnish evidence of permanent residency in the form of a certificate from the Revenue Officer concerned, not below the rank of Tahasildar/District Magistrate/their employer concerned.
  3. Candidates who do not have Odia as MIL and their parents are also not permanent residents of Odisha, but are serving under the Govt. of Odisha/Central Govt. /Public Undertaking or any University in the State of Odisha. Such aspirants must furnish a certificate that assures the same from the Head of the Office/Institution where their parent(s) is/are working.
  4. Odia students permanently residing outside Odisha must furnish a certificate confirming their Odisha origin, either from their Employer/Tahasildar/District Magistrate (of the District in which they are residing). The certificate can also be submitted from the Tahasildar/ District Magistrate of their native place Odisha.

The above criteria (that is point 2 and 4) do not apply to ICAR/VCI nominees/Foreign Candidates/State Govt. sponsored candidates/children of employees of OUAT.

Age Limit: The age of the applicants should not be less than 17 years as on the last day of the year.

The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Eligibility Criteria for the postgraduate or doctorate level programmes.

The ICAR/Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt./Foreign Candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination. All other categories of candidates including ICAR Fellowship holders are required to appear at the Entrance Examination.

Q:   Is it important for Kashmiri Migrants or Kashmiri Pandits to appear in OUAT PG Entrance Exam for admission to OUAT?
A: 

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in the Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination. Interested candidates must apply online; otherwise, admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without the OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid. In case of a tie, it will be resolved considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, followed by Class 12 science and 10th standard in that order.

The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 application process will be conducted in a completely online manner. Aspirants have to fill the form by visiting the exam portal of the exam. The OUAT Entrance Exam Application Form is divided into two parts, Form A and Form B. Form A has to be filled and submitted tentatively between the third week of March to the fourth week of April 2026.

How to Fill OUAT 2026 Entrance Exam Form A

Candidates will have to fill the OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Form A in the following manner. 

  • Go to the OUAT Entrance Exam website, or directly visit - https://ouat-lokaseba-odisha.in./#/login
  • Click on the link indicating OUAT Entrance Exam Application Form A
  • Fill up the form with personal information, email ID, mobile number, choice of centre, selection of optional subject (Mathematics or Biology), self-declaration form, etc.
  • Enter the OTPs sent to the registered email ID and mobile number
  • Upload a recent coloured passport-size photograph with 200 px height and 150 px width and file size not exceeding 200 KB in JPG or JPEG format
  • Pay the application fee of INR 2,000 through Credit Card, Debit Card, Internet Banking or UPI
  • Download the e-receipt of the form and preserve it till the admission process is completed. 

How to Fill OUAT 2026 Entrance Exam Form B

The OUAT 2026 Entrance Exam Form B will be released tentatively in the fourth week of May and has to be submitted by the second week of June. Only those candidates who submitted Form A will be eligible for the Form B. The process and the information to be entered in the form are as follows:

  • Visit the OUAT Entrance Exam website
  • Login with the registered email ID and mobile number
  • Under the Activity section, click on Form B
  • Enter the OUAT Entrance Exam Application Number
  • The form will be partially filled with data submitted in Form A
  • Submit total marks and secured marks of all subjects studied in Class 10 Board exam or equivalent

  • Submit total marks and secured marks of all subjects studied in Class 12 Board exam or equivalent in the Science stream, including additional and extra optional subjects (if any). If you have not studied Biology/Mathematics/Biotechnology in Class 11 and 12, then enter 0 in the secured marks field.

  • Select the Education Board from the dropdown menu
  •  Candidates who belong to “Other Board/equivalent” (Education Boards/equivalent other than CHSE, CBSE and ICSE), where 1st and 2nd year marks are awarded separately, should combine the theory and practical marks of both years and enter in the given format.

There is no separate application fee required for the OUAT Entrance Exam Application Form B.

While applying for the OUAT 2026 Entrance Exam Application Form-A, candidates have to select any three cities or district in order of their preference. OUAT will try to allot the city of examination in order of preference as opted in Form-A. The allotted centre will be mentioned on the admit card. Q:   What are the exam centre guidelines for the online OUAT Entrance Exam?
A: 

Candidates must know that they need to follow the guidelines and instructions on the day of the OUAT Exam as mentioned below:

  • The exam will be conducted in a single sitting.  The candidate must appear for the entrance examination as per the scheduled time and date mentioned in his/her admit card. 

  • The candidates are to report 2 hours before the examination. Detailed instructions will be provided on the admit card.  

  • No Mobile phone headphones/any other electronic gadgets are allowed during the examination. Candidates, who are found to use unfair means shall be debarred from the examination.  

  • The candidates are to obey the instructions of the Centre Superintendent and Invigilators at the Examination Centre. 

  • The invigilators will take attendance on the attendance sheets, in which the candidates shall have to put their full signature against their corresponding roll number.  

  • The candidate, after logging in, must go through instructions for the examination displayed on the computer screen.  

  • The examination does not require using any paper, pen, pencil or external calculator. However, paper will be supplied for rough wor,k which will be collected by the invigilators.  

  • Each student will get questions and a choice of answers in a different order, selected randomly from the affixed Question Data bank. 

  • The students just need to click on the Right Choice / Correct option from the multiple choices/options given with each question. For Multiple Choice Questions, each question has four options, and the candidate must click the appropriate option.

The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Answer Key is expected to be released in the fourth week of June. At first, the exam authorities will release the provisional answer keys of the OUAT Entrance Exam. Candidates will get a chance to submit objections or challenges against answer keys with discrepancies. The expert committee will review the objections and then release the final answer keys. The process to check and download the OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Answer Keys is given below.

  1. Go to the official portal of OUAT - https://ouat.ac.in/admissions/ 
  2. Click on the "Answer Key" link. 
  3. Click on the "download" link after finding your subject. 
  4. Save the PDF for Answer key to use it in further admission process. 

Candidates can submit objection against the questions and answer keys of OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 in online mode at the website, paying a non-refundable fee of INR 200 per question. The OUAT entrance exam result 2026 will be out in July. The result will be declared in the form of scores, percentile and rank. As per the marking scheme for the OUAT entrance exam, each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking scheme. The total marks of the exam is 200.

OUAT 2026 Counselling Process

The OUAT Entrance Exam 2026 Counselling process will be conducted for the qualifying candidates. The OUAT Counselling process is a mix of online and offline steps. There will be approximately four rounds, which will be conducted tentatively between August and November 2026. Candidates have to follow the below process to participate in the OUAT 2026 Counselling or admission process.

  • Register online on OUAT official website
  • Fill in the programme choice
  • Pay the OUAT counselling fee
  • Lock OUAT seat choices
  • Check the Seat Allotment Result
  • Visit the Nodal Centre for document verification and admission fee payment
  • Final allotment of OUAT seats & auto upgradation
  • Reporting for admission at the allotted institute

In case a candidate is not satisfied with the seats allotted in the initial rounds, can opt for upgradation and participate in the next rounds of OUAT Counselling Process, until he or she gets admission to the institute or course of his or her choice.

Q:   How to get admission to BVSC & AH and BFSc through OUAT entrance exam if a candidate comes from a non-PCB and PCM background?
A: 

Candidates without having Mathematics or Biology will have to make up for their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters. For admission into B.V.Sc & A.H and B.F.Sc. subject combination P.C.B. in + 2 science/equivalent is mandatory. Similarly, for B.Tech (Agril. Engg.), subject combination P.C.M in + 2 science / equivalent are mandatory.

Q:   What are the eligibility criteria for candidates who want to apply for OUAT counselling under AFP Quota?
A: 

Candidates applying under the AFP quota shall produce the original Bonafide Certificate issued by Rajya Sainik Board, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar-2 at the time of counselling and admission, failing which his/her admission to AFP category seat will be denied.

Q:   What documents are required to participate in OUAT counselling?
A: 

Candidates who are invited for counselling and admission are required to submit the following documents in original and two sets of self-attested photocopies before the Admission Board. 

  1. Intimation letter

  2. Downloaded application Form

  3. Domicile certificate if relevant (As per clause 2.3.1).

  4. Class 10th & 12th Mark sheet and certificates

  5. UG Certificate and Mark sheet

  6. Master’s Certificate and Mark sheet for Ph. D. admission

  7. PwD Certificate

  8. In the case of NRI/PIO Candidates all the following documents:

  • Sponsorship Certificate (Annexure- III)

  • Passport of Sponsor

  • Visa/permanent residential certificate of sponsor

  • Residential proof of sponsor(electric bill, water bill, telephone bill etc.)

  • Govt. document or affidavit indicating the blood relationship of candidates with the sponsor

  1. Domicile certificate from respective states for Other State Candidates.

  2. Medical Fitness Certificate ( Annexure- II).

  3. Declaration certificate for discontinued study ( Annexure-IV).

  4. CLC, Conduct and Migration Certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.

  5. Aadhaar Card with recent photograph.

  6. Five passport-size colour photographs.

Q:   Can I get direct admission in OUAT?
A: 

No, there is no such procedure to take direct admission in the OUAT exam. Applicants are required to fill the application form and appear in the OUAT entrance exam for their desired course. 

Since there are two entrance exams OUAT UG & OUAT PG, hence applicants who want to take admission in their desired course need to apply accordingly. 

The application form, release of admit card, answer key & result will be released in online mode only.

There will be 180 general multiple choice questions (Non-crop specific) in part A and 40 crop specific (Field crop and Horticultural crops in equal proportion) questions in part B following the common syllabi of Agriculture and Horticulture faculties. Candidates have to attempt all the questions in part A and any 20 questions from part B.

Q:   How many parts are there in OUAT entrance exam for M.Sc (Ag) course?

The entrance examination for admission into the Master’s programme in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and for the Doctoral programme is offline at Bhubaneswar. For the M.Sc. (Ag) course programme, the question of entrance test will be comprised of two parts Part- A and Part B.

No, the seats that are reserved for SC & ST candidates, who appear for the OUAT Exam and clear the exam, are not allowed to interchange their reserved seats separately.

Q:   What is the duration of a doctoral programme at OUAT?
A: 

A Doctoral Programme is a full-time study of three years which includes both course work and research for a thesis. The maximum permissible period for completion of the course is seven consecutive academic years for direct students and eight consecutive years for in-service students. An academic year consists of two semesters each having a minimum duration of 110 working days consisting of 95 Net Instructional Days (NID) and 15 examination days.

Q:   What is the duration of a Masters degree at Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology?
A: 

A Master’s Degree Programme is a full-time study of two years which includes both coursework and research for a thesis. The maximum permissible period for completion of a Master’s degree is five consecutive academic years for direct students and six consecutive years for in-service students.

OUAT (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology) is conducts once a year. The OUAT Entrance Exam mock test is released by the conducting body, OUAT Bhubaneshwar, on its official website. Since the exam is conducted in a computer-based mode, the mock test is also provided online. Hence, there is no provision to take the OUAT Entrance Exam mock test in online mode.
