OUAT Entrance Exam BFSc 2020: Exam Dates, Application Form, Eligibility, Syllabus, Results

It is expected that the exam will be held in the first week of June 2026, over two days.

This exam is held for all those students who want to make their career in the Agriculture fields and other related fields like horticulture and veterinary science. The exam is conducted once a year for all students who wish to get admission through OUAT to their preferred courses. 

The applicant has to submit online application Form-A and Form-B through the official website (Academic section>admission section > Candidate login). Candidate has to log in providing e-mail ID, mobile number and OTP to submit Form-A and Form-B. The candidate has to log in to edit Form-A & Form-B and download acknowledgement to Form-A and Form-B submission. Entrance mark, weightage.

This is the broad procedure to apply for the OUAT Entrance Exam. Aspirants have to visit the official exam website as the application process is completely online. 

The OUAT Entrance Exam scores are accepted by the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar. The scores are also accepted by colleges affiliated with OUAT, offering BSc, BVSc & AH courses. 

Before filling out the OUAT Application Form candidates must ensure that they are eligible to appear for the exam.

• Candidates must have completed their Class 10 and 12 in the Science stream with subjects like Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology.
• General category students need 50 per cent marks in Class 12 (including optional subjects).
• SC/ST/PH candidates need at least 40 per cent marks.

OUAT Entrance Exam pattern details are given below.

• Mode: Computer based test
• Duration: Two hours or 120 minutes
• Question Types: Objective-type Multiple Choice Questions MCQs

• Total Marks: 200
• Total Questions: 200
• Marking Scheme: 1 mark for each correct answer, no negative marking.

The ICAR/Departmental candidates sponsored by State Govt./Foreign Candidates nominated by ICAR/ICCR/any other statutory bodies of Govt. of India are exempted from appearing in the Entrance Examination. All other categories of candidates including ICAR Fellowship holders are required to appear at the Entrance Examination.

To get admission into B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture, B.Sc.(Hons.) Horticulture, B.Sc. Forestry, B.Sc. (Hons.) Community Science, combinations of either P.C.M or P.C.B in Class 12 Science or equivalent are mandatory.

The Kashmiri Migrants/ Kashmiri Pandit (Non-Migrants) / Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) living in the Kashmir Valley are not required to appear in the OUAT PG Entrance Examination. Interested candidates must apply online; otherwise, admission is not allowed. The selection of these candidates will be made from a separate merit list prepared based on the highest OGPA/percentage of marks in Under Graduate programme. Without the OGPA/marks of qualifying examinations, the application will be invalid. In case of a tie, it will be resolved considering the percentage of marks in the qualifying examination, followed by Class 12 science and 10th standard in that order.

The OUAT entrance exam will be conducted in computer-based mode for two hours. The exam centres will be located in Odisha and New Delhi.

To appear in the online entrance examination (CBT mode), the candidate must have the admit card and original ID proof. Submission of application Form-B (online) is mandatory for the admission process. No hard copy of application Form-A, Form-B or any other document will be accepted. For admission, the candidate must appear entrance examination and submit Form B. Even if a candidate appears in the entrance examination, but does not submit Form B, the rank will not be generated and the candidate will not be eligible for admission.

No, the application fee for the OUAT Entrance Exam is non-refundable. Even if a candidate does not appear for the exam even after applying, the fee will not be refunded. 

The application form of OUAT 2026 will be released along with the release of the notification, tentatively in the third week of March. Applicants who want to appear in the exam are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying online. Along with filling out the form, students need to pay application fees as well and uploading the documents. 

The OUAT entrance exam is conducted in a computer-based mode. The duration is two hours. There are 200 multiple-choice objective-type questions. The medium of the question paper is English.

The duration of OUAT entrance exam for undergraduate programs is of 2 hours.

No, there is no negative marking applicable in the OUAT entrance exam. This led to an increase in the cutoff of the OUAT entrance exam. Since there is no negative marking hence applicants attempt the maximum number of questions they can or even sometimes they do wild guesses. 

Questions that are marked correct give the applicants extra marks even without knowing the correct way of solving them.

It is advisable to the students to attempt all the questions in the exam hall.  

The Entrance Examination will be of 2 hours duration with 200 multiple choice questions of one mark each in English language only. There will be no negative mark for the wrong answer. The multiple-choice questions (MCQ) will cover the subjects taught at the Bachelor’s Degree level and Master’s Degree (major discipline) for the Master’s and Doctoral programmes respectively.

The OUAT exam questions mainly come from the NCERT. The OUAT Exam syllabus includes subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology courses from Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi.

A candidate who is appearing for the exam this year should know that the difficulty level in general is moderate to tough. Also, candidates need to score well in classes 10 and 12 so, that when they appear for the OUAT Exam 25 per cent of their class 10 and 12 scores will be added too.

The OUAT Entrance Exam syllabus is based on Class 10 and 12 topics from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. The OUAT Undergraduate syllabus consists of Class 10 and 12 syllabi. 

The OUAT 2026 Admit Card is likely to be released in the fourth week of May 2026. Only the registered candidates will be able to download it. The exam will be held tentatively in the first week of June 2026.

No, the OUAT Entrance Exam admit card has to be downloaded from the exam website. Hence, the admit card or hall ticket can be accessed only in online mode. The exam authorities will not send the admit card by post.

Candidates must know that they need to follow the guidelines and instructions on the day of the OUAT Exam as mentioned below:

• The exam will be conducted in a single sitting.  The candidate must appear for the entrance examination as per the scheduled time and date mentioned in his/her admit card. 

• The candidates are to report 2 hours before the examination. Detailed instructions will be provided on the admit card.  

• No Mobile phone headphones/any other electronic gadgets are allowed during the examination. Candidates, who are found to use unfair means shall be debarred from the examination.  

• The candidates are to obey the instructions of the Centre Superintendent and Invigilators at the Examination Centre. 

• The invigilators will take attendance on the attendance sheets, in which the candidates shall have to put their full signature against their corresponding roll number.  

• The candidate, after logging in, must go through instructions for the examination displayed on the computer screen.  

• The examination does not require using any paper, pen, pencil or external calculator. However, paper will be supplied for rough wor,k which will be collected by the invigilators.  

• Each student will get questions and a choice of answers in a different order, selected randomly from the affixed Question Data bank. 

• The students just need to click on the Right Choice / Correct option from the multiple choices/options given with each question. For Multiple Choice Questions, each question has four options, and the candidate must click the appropriate option. 

The OUAT Entrance Exam centres are located in Odisha. Outside the state, there is one centre in New Delhi. 

The OUAT 2026 Answer Key is expected to be released in the fourth week of June. In general, the exam authority releases the provisional answer key within a few weeks of conducting the exam. The last date to submit objections is within three to four days of the release date. 

Candidates need to visit the official website of OUAT and log in with their registered IDs to download the OUAT Answer Key PDF. The objection submission window is likely to be scheduled in the fourth week of June 2026. The actual dates will be announced by officials after the exam is conducted in the first week of June.

Yes, it is mandatory to submit challenges or objections against the OUAT answer key within the said date. It is expected that the provisional answer keys and response sheets will be released in the fourth week of June. The last date to submit challenges will be within the next few days. Candidates will not be allowed to submit objections against the OUAT Entrance Exam once the window is over.

The OUAT 2026 Answer Key PDF will be released tentatively in the fourth week of June. Test takers can access the answer keys on the official website. 

The OUAT entrance exam result 2026 will be out in July. The result will be declared in the form of scores, percentile and rank. Candidates have to log in to the official website using their application number and date of birth to check the result. The scorecard will be released a few days after the result is out. The scorecard should be saved till the admission process is over.

OUAT Passing Marks are the set of marks upon which the test takers were able to get their names into the participating institute of OUAT entrance exam. After the declaration of the OUAT entrance exam result, the university will release the course-wise passing marks or cutoff.

As per the marking scheme for the OUAT entrance exam, each question carries one mark. There is no negative marking scheme. The total marks of the exam is 200.

Candidates without having Mathematics or Biology will have to make up for their deficiency by taking pre-requisite courses in the subject (Mathematics / Biology) to be offered during the first two semesters. For admission into B.V.Sc & A.H and B.F.Sc. subject combination P.C.B. in + 2 science/equivalent is mandatory. Similarly, for B.Tech (Agril. Engg.), subject combination P.C.M in + 2 science / equivalent are mandatory.

Candidates applying under the AFP quota shall produce the original Bonafide Certificate issued by Rajya Sainik Board, Govt. of Odisha, Bhubaneswar-2 at the time of counselling and admission, failing which his/her admission to AFP category seat will be denied.

Candidates who are invited for counselling and admission are required to submit the following documents in original and two sets of self-attested photocopies before the Admission Board.

3. Domicile certificate if relevant (As per clause 2.3.1).

4. Class 10th & 12th Mark sheet and certificates

5. UG Certificate and Mark sheet

8. In the case of NRI/PIO Candidates all the following documents:

• Sponsorship Certificate (Annexure- III)

• Passport of Sponsor

• Visa/permanent residential certificate of sponsor

• Residential proof of sponsor(electric bill, water bill, telephone bill etc.)

• Govt. document or affidavit indicating the blood relationship of candidates with the sponsor

9. Domicile certificate from respective states for Other State Candidates.

10. Medical Fitness Certificate ( Annexure- II).

11. Declaration certificate for discontinued study ( Annexure-IV).

12. CLC, Conduct and Migration Certificate from the Head of Institution last attended.

No, there is no such procedure to take direct admission in the OUAT exam. Applicants are required to fill the application form and appear in the OUAT entrance exam for their desired course. 

Since there are two entrance exams OUAT UG & OUAT PG, hence applicants who want to take admission in their desired course need to apply accordingly. 

The application form, release of admit card, answer key & result will be released in online mode only.

There will be 180 general multiple choice questions (Non-crop specific) in part A and 40 crop specific (Field crop and Horticultural crops in equal proportion) questions in part B following the common syllabi of Agriculture and Horticulture faculties. Candidates have to attempt all the questions in part A and any 20 questions from part B.

The entrance examination for admission into the Master’s programme in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode and for the Doctoral programme is offline at Bhubaneswar. For the M.Sc. (Ag) course programme, the question of entrance test will be comprised of two parts Part- A and Part B.

No, the seats that are reserved for SC & ST candidates, who appear for the OUAT Exam and clear the exam, are not allowed to interchange their reserved seats separately.

A Doctoral Programme is a full-time study of three years which includes both course work and research for a thesis. The maximum permissible period for completion of the course is seven consecutive academic years for direct students and eight consecutive years for in-service students. An academic year consists of two semesters each having a minimum duration of 110 working days consisting of 95 Net Instructional Days (NID) and 15 examination days.

A Master’s Degree Programme is a full-time study of two years which includes both coursework and research for a thesis. The maximum permissible period for completion of a Master’s degree is five consecutive academic years for direct students and six consecutive years for in-service students.

OUAT (Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology) is conducts once a year. The OUAT entrance exam is conducted for students who wish to study Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Fishery Science, Home Science, and Forestry. Students who wish to pursue undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in these fields should go through the OUAT eligibility criteria, and if they fulfil the criteria, they should appear for the entrance exam.
