It has an excellent library and mess facilities.
Placements: There are 7 students in my batch, including myself. 2 girls got married during course and other 5 are doing PhD somewhere. No highest or the lowest salary packages are offered to students. It's the fellowship of a PhD we are getting from the government of India. All students get placed in the top institutes of India, including IITs. Students are engaged in rigorous research work whole year, and sending material sample for testing in different institutions. So there is no time for internships in all that. One student got an offer letter for a project associate and converted that project into a PhD already.
Infrastructure: Classrooms and the library system are top-notch in AMU. There's enough flexibility for doing lab work in any department. This department also has expensive equipment for labwork. Hostels are decent with decent quality of mess. The main feature is the reasonable cost of mess, i.e., Rs. 1600 per month. Food quality is satisfactory. Students have access of JN Medical College Aligarh free of cost and a separate student health service is operation 24x7. Sports facilities are also quite good. From athletic ground to swimming pool, horse riding, tennis, hockey, cricket, football, basketball, volleyball, etc., all facilities are available for bonafide students of AMU.
Faculty: Faculty members are the most positive part of the department. Faculty members are extremely supportive and well-qualified. Teaching quality is top-notch. The course curriculum was recently updated with all the current industrial subjects, such as quantum mechanics and smart intelligent materials. Semester exams are quite engaging with the syllabus taught to us and are pretty balanced. An average student does not feel any difficulty in cracking it. For labs, it's 60% and for theory work, it is 40%.
Other: I have an interest in biodegradable materials for environmental sustainability, so I chose M.Tech. in Materials Science & Technology. The placement area is the weakest part of the department. It needs an improvement immediately. The campus is vibrant and filled with different people from different parts of the world. Scholarships are available from MHRD, and central scholarships are also there. As the strength is very low, extracurricular activities in the department are rare.

M.Tech. in Civil Engineering (Earthquake Engineering & Disaster Management) - Batch of 2025
Offered by Zakir Husain College of Engineering and Technology, Aligarh Muslim University

Really good infrastructure and facilities as library, sports, etc.
Placements: I'm pursuing M.Tech at A.M.U. My branch is Civil Engineering (specialization in Earthquake Engineering and Disaster Management). I enrolled in this course in the 2023 batch. The percentage of students placed in this course is above 80%. In my course, the highest package of campus placement is around 12 Lacs per annum, and the lowest is 5.5 Lacs per annum. The top companies coming for campus selection are L&T, Tata Construction, DLF, Birla, etc. 29% of students get internships in the government sector, like the railway, PWD, BHEL, etc. Many Structural Engineering posts and disaster management roles, such as earthquake-resistant buildings and bridges for disaster prevention.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good. Structural lab Dynamic lab Earthquake engineering shock lab CAD lab and Software labs like ETABS, STAAD Pro, ANSYS, LS Dyna, MATLAB, SAP2000, etc. Maulana Azad library and book bank specifically for the engineering faculty in my department. Seminar rooms are provided for reading, and reading rooms are also available in the hostel. Free Wi-Fi on campus without any limitations. Free access to research papers and all types of publications. Dining facilities for food in the hostel and also a canteen for food if you are not a hosteler. All types of sports are available, including cricket, football, hockey, skating, volleyball, basketball, swimming, and horse riding. Gym facilities for all students, either in the hostel or the main gym. NCC and NSS. The hostel fee is nil; only dining fees are paid for food, which is 1500/- per month for three meals a day.
Faculty: The faculty members are highly qualified. All teachers have Ph.Ds. in our field and are highly knowledgeable. Every professor is helpful to students. Every classroom is fully air-conditioned, and smartboards are present. This course is very good for industrial and structural purposes. The semester exams in my college are tough. If you don’t study throughout the semester, you will have a chance of failing. The passing percentage is 40%.
Other: I chose this course because I want to work abroad in earthquake-resistant design. In the past, earthquakes were not considered in building or bridge design, but nowadays, the effects of earthquakes are increasing day by day. My college also provides a GATE scholarship of 12,400/- per month for students with a valid GATE scorecard.

    Very poor placement cell.
Placements: 5% of students were placed in this course. The highest package offered was 3 LPAs. The top recruiting companies are Allana and IFFCO. Students do not get placed for internships here in this course. Roles offered are: QA/QC, food analyst, R&D executive, and chemist.
Infrastructure: The labs are all well-equipped and the classrooms are teach-savvy. Wi-Fi is reliable with seamless online access. The library has a diverse range of books available. All your basic hostel needs are fulfilled. The mess food is hygienic and of good quality.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and well qualified, with excellent teaching skills The course curriculum is relevant; the only thing is that optional subjects like ethics and disaster management should have been replaced by food-related subjects. Pass percentage: 35%.
Other: The prospect of contributing to the ever-evolving food industry drew me to this course. The best thing about this course is the balance of practical as well as theoretical knowledge. The senior faculty members, the staff and professors are well qualified and cooperative. The only thing I wish could be improved are the placement opportunities. Since our faculty is not on campus, we are far from campus life. This is one of the drawbacks. But our faculty is quite engaged in curricular activities, in conducting webinars, and in poster competitions. Merit-based scholarships are also available.

A place where u get knowledge and Tradition wisdom.
Placements: Around 70% of students get selection in campus placement, the average salary is about 5 l. p. a. with big recruiting companies like Cummins, Siemens, L & T, Secure meter and many more. The role was for testing, manufacturing, designing and site work. More than 90% of students get an internship in reputed companies and firms.
Infrastructure: Amazing hostel facilities, modern infrastructure, the labs were equipped with the latest technologies for great practical experience, our university library is Asia's the biggest university library. Food quality was very good, rich in taste and nutrient diet. Sports facilities were best of all, all the students were mandatory involved in sports. NAAC has been given the A credit to our Institute.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, very helpful and very good practical knowledge of subjects. They also motivate us to pursue a research career the course curriculum is very relevant for industrial practices and for the Engineering based entrance examination like GATE IES etc.
Other: I am interested to do my research work in the field microgrid system and the course is very organized and relevant for further studies and industrial work. New courses should be improvised like those, that are running in foreign universities.

It is an awesome place if u are willing to learn something.
Placements: Machine design, being the first choice of any engineering student planning to get admitted into Masters is really doing well many of the students got research opportunities from abroad and in Pvt firms like Tata, Voltas (a Tata enterprise), Siemens, Cummins and some foreign placements like a company named Faisal Jaseem recruited for Dubai posting.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is just awesome. Many of the NITs and even most of the IITs. Except those 5 old lag in terms of infrastructure. This University has a rich culture people from across the globe come here and it nurtures them with the innovation and gives them a platform to show their potential.
Faculty: Faculty is highly qualified, most of the faculty is a Ph.D. in engineering and very few are an M.Tech. The research area is very wide so it's very difficult if u are planning to do research and you don't find a faculty who is not a legend in that. The course curriculum is a standard curriculum generally followed in IITs and NITs.

I am satisfied due to good faculty and good placement records.
Placements: The placement record of our college is excellent. Most students get a job with enough salary. Many companies like Honda, JP Cement, etc., visit our college and select students for the job. Companies offered roles like AE, JE, etc., to the students. Our senior got a salary package of 20 LPA.
Infrastructure: Our college provides many facilities for students. There is a Wi-Fi facility. Classrooms and library are huge. Labs are equipped with lots of tools which were sufficient for practical. Our campus provides a good quality of food. Hostel rooms are huge and provided with many facilities.
Faculty: Teachers of our college are well-qualified, and they possess lots of experienced. They provide a great education for students. The teaching quality of our teacher is very good. Teachers provide smart classes, doubt classes for students. The student to faculty ratio was high.
Other: The college organises many programmes. The campus crowd is very exciting. The college provides different scholarships to students. Many extracurricular activities are conducted here.
