AMU, Aligarh offers a no. of specialisations under MSc course. Selection to MSc is done through the departmental test by the university. For MSc Home Science, only girls are granted admission. The course is offered for a duration of two-years.

Not a perfect university but still a good one.
Placements: Approximately 30% of students got campus placements. The highest salary package offered is 9 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is approximately 2.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Unacademy, Decathlon, etc. Each student can get an internship but you have to reach the company on your own.
Infrastructure: All types of facilities are available like Wi-Fi, well-maintained labs and classrooms, a library, a seminar library, and a central library. The hostel is amazing. All types of sports and games are played by students.
Faculty: Our teachers are well-qualified and very knowledgeable. But the teaching quality is not good. Some of them are good professors, but not everyone. The course curriculum is only 60% relevant. Semester exams are not very difficult. You can easily score good marks by studying a month before exams.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in mathematics. AMU is a central university. I want to improve the teaching quality of a few professors and want to establish a very active placement cell. Scholarships are available for every student.

Life at Aligarh Muslim University.
Placements: In my passing batch, around 85% of the students got placed in top companies like Unacademy, IFFCO, Aakash Institute, Zomato, Ambuja, and Awadh Girls College, among others. Also, various companies like FIWE and Delhi offered internship programs. Recently, IFFCO Saudi came for campus placement and offered a pretty good package of about 12 LPA.
Infrastructure: In my course, we have 2 separate classrooms assigned for our lectures and a large, well-equipped laboratory. The entire campus has free Wi-Fi access for all the bona fide students. Maulana Azad Library is the best place to study until 2 a.m. Apart from this, personal seminars are also available in each department. College hostels are really good given the low fees. Meals are good as per the hostelers' wishes.
Faculty: The faculty is highly qualified, holding degrees from international universities. They have deep knowledge about the subjects that they teach and make learning more enjoyable with regular seminars, assignments/projects, fieldwork, etc. The curriculum is the first thing I checked before admission to this course; it is good as per the exam schedule.
Other: I chose this course because I have always been amazed by daily life activities and everything I eat, I see. I wish the course had more field visits. University is not all about being bookwork; rather, it focuses on providing a wider experience by organizing different types of fests, sports activities, drama, musical fests, and hall weeks to celebrate festivals and anniversaries of famous personalities.

One of the most renowned institutes of our country .
Placements: I will have completed my Masters in Physics from Aligarh Muslim University in 2024. About 10% of a batch of 50 Student were placed. The package was in the range of 4-6 LPA. The top recruiters were coaching centres like Aakash, Physics Wallah and Bansal. About 10% of the students got the internship, which included paid internships in different countries such as Taiwan and China.
Masters in Physics opened multiple opportunities for the students to pursue their careers in different fields, such as research work, teaching professions and engineering.
Infrastructure: Aligarh Muslim University is one of the best and most prestigious institutes of India and it offers the best facilities for it's students. The hostels were huge, the infrastructure was extremely beautiful and the whole campus had Wi-Fi. The food had multiple options, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian, as preferred by the students.
The Department of Physics had separate labs for each year of students, along with multiple other specialization labs such as the condensed physics lab, the nuclear lab, the physics lab, and the spectroscopy lab and each one of them had the best equipment that you will ever find in all of Asia. AMU has one of the biggest Asian libraries named Maulana Azad Library.
It is a seven-story library with multiple reading rooms and research sections continuing more than 14 lac books. Along with this, each department has its own seminar library with a large number of books where students can sit and study without much disturbance.
Faculty: The teachers are extremely helpful to every student. All of them are extremely brilliant and have even worked with Nobel laureates. The relevance depends on your requirements as a student. It might not be the best course if you are looking to get the most job opportunities that one might get in professional courses like engineering and BCA. The semester exams are not difficult per se but they do require the students to be fairly regular and dedicated to their studies. The minimum passing marks are 34 out of 100 for each subject.
Other: Since an early age, I have had a great interest in physics, which led me to choose this course as I had a desire to pursue a career in research. This course gives you opportunities to do research in various fields of physics and even provides opportunities to study at some of the most reputed institutions all over the world. The academic year is filled with festivals and events, with the cultural education club being the sole organizer of these events. In addition to that, each hall of residence has its own festival every year and students from all around the campus can participate in the events and win prizes.

Absolutely satisfied with my academic work but disappointed with the placement options.
Placements: Compared to other departments, placements are lower in the Zoology department. In AMU, the TPO (Training and Placement Office) is well-functioning, but more chances are for professional course students. But still, many used to get placements in tutoring jobs in many education schemes. The students who got placements from our course will be less than 20% because it's more focused on further research fields to get the benefits of the course.
Infrastructure: In the Zoology Department, the lab facilities are at a good level with advanced equipment and instrument technologies. Wi-Fi is accessible for all enrolled students and faculty members without any restriction and it's completely unlimited. There are a number of hostels on campus and my hostel has good facilities and a very cheap fee. Only INR 1500 monthly for the mess fee and no extra fees is there.
24 hours of free medical services for students from JNMC The library is accessible for students but it's restricted after 6:30 for hostel girls due to outing schedules.
Faculty: Highly potential and internationally renowned professors are the most highlighting thing about AMU academics. The majority of the teachers are friendly and approachable for any inquiries or other curricular purposes. In the context of the Zoology department, we should say that the course syllabus is worthy of cracking the CSIR NET exam. Many students from our department used to crack competitive exams without spending years preparing. Placements can't be said to be that reliable for Zoology students here but yes, there are some high chances provided by TPO (Training and Placement Office, AMU). The semester exams are of average level, which can be passed by regular average students.
Other: AMU used to conduct many academic and cultural programmes. But we should say that AMU gives more priority to academic events and programmes than cultural ones. So for a student who has a passion for cultural activities and aims to improve their arts skills, AMU may not be an option. AMU is the best option for those who wish for scholarship funds. The campus surrounding it is keeping its natural aesthetic and beauty and I can't see any crowding. Sir Syed Day is the most famous celebration here, which is known as Eid of Aligs. Amu is good at conducting workshops, seminars and conferences in most of the departments.

Excellent Experience at AMU .
Placements: AMU M.Sc. Polymer Science: 70% placements; highest package is INR 9 LPA; lowest package is INR 3 LPA; average is INR 5 LPA. Top recruiters: Reliance Industries, DuPont, etc. 55 percent of students got internships at companies like BASF and Dow. Roles: polymer engineer, research scientist, quality control analyst, etc.
Infrastructure: As the president of Aligarh, I have not allotted a hall, but from what I have heard from other students, the hall needs some improvements. The food quality is average, and the canteen is good overall. The Wi-Fi is fast throughout the campus, the classrooms are very good, the library is very helpful, the medical facility is below average, and the sports facility has good grounds and courts.
Faculty: The faculty of engineering and technology has great teachers in the department who are very helpful and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. The course curriculum is very relevant. It definitely makes it industry-ready. The semester exams are difficult, and the pass percentage in each subject varies.

Our college is a good platform to know who we are and to sharpen our hands.
Placements: In the last 4 years, more than 60% of students were placed as most of the students went on for higher studies as research scholars. The salary package offered is 4.8 LPA to 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Bayer, Syngenta, etc. visit our campus. Top roles offered are junior scientific in research and development, senior protection executive, and mass multiplication of eco-boils.
Infrastructure: Our department is well-equipped with all resources, including an ultra-high-speed central Wi-Fi network at 15 Mbps for portable mobile devices. There are well-designed classrooms with good LED projectors, cameras, speakers, and air-conditioners. Labs are well-equipped with all laboratory instruments like different types of microscopes, laminar airflow, autoclaves, microwave ovens, refrigerators, and glassware. The quality of facilities in our hostel is good with two tube lights, one fan, cupboards, study tables with chairs, and two cots per room with good ventilation. The quality of the food is quite adjustable. In the canteen, we will get instant food like samosas, bread omelets, aalu paratha, and other snack items at reasonable prices. All medical facilities are good and free of cost. This university has given excellent opportunities to every student to participate in all games and sports, including swimming, horseback riding, etc.
Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified and they have excellent knowledge about the subject. The teaching quality is good. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students industry-ready. There is an optimal level of difficulty in exams, but every student can face them with full preparation with the help of the huge seminar library in the department. The pass percentage is 100%.
Other: As I am interested in plant protection courses and the fee structure at this university is also very low, I opted for it. Practical experience that I haven't seen in my undergrad is my favorite thing about this university. I want to sharpen my hand in all the practical exercises or experiments being done here. Events are well known in the university, when visiting our department, all the important national events are being celebrated here. The campus surroundings are very good, with good garden work, flowers, crops, and orchards. The scholarships get an allotment from ICAR, and I will get Rs.5,000 per month as a stipend. In addition to that, there are other scholarships available for minorities.
