The university offers four-year full-time BE/BTech courses in various specialisations on-campus and through affiliated colleges. In addition, apart from the regular BE degree, Annamalai University also offers part-time BE courses covering four specialisations. BE Lateral entry courses are also available. Admission to the UG courses is based on merit, seats are further allotted to the shortlisted candidates through TNEA counselling. Some of the specialisations in which the course is offered are Chemical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering and Electrical & Electronics Engineering, which have been accredited by the NBA with an ‘A’ Grade.

Annamalai University BTech fees range between INR 1.5 Lacs - INR 7 lakh. The fee mentioned here is the total tuition fee with some other components and is taken from an unofficial source, hence is indicative. For the detailed fee structure, candidates are advised to contact the admission department of the University. Moreover, the total course fee includes several fee components, including the caution deposit, alumni fee, hostel charges (if applicable), etc. At the time of form filling, candidates must also pay the application fee.

In General category under the AI quota, the TNEA 2025 cutoff ranks ranged between 372 and 131755 for BE admission covering multiple specialisations. So, considering the cutoff range, there are chances that candidates with a TNEA rank of 52000 can get admission at Annamalai University. However, the cutoff ranks ranged varied across diffrent rounds. Therefore, it is not compulsory that the students will get a seat in the first round and they might have to wait until the last round. BE admission at this university is based on valid JEE Main/ Class 12 score, follwed by TNEA counselling.

As per Annamalai University's NIRF report 2024, the university was able to place 18 M.Tech students during the placement drive held in 2023. Moreover, the report states that the median package for MTech courses stood at INR 4.28 LPA. 

Other than this, Cognizant, IBM, TCS, Wipro, HCL, EY, and WNS are some of the top recruiters who have actively participated in the past AU placements.

Candidates can apply for Annamalai University admission in online mode through its official website. Interested applicants also need to pay a course-specific application fee to conclude the application process. The university is ranked among the top three Universities in India for best distance education providers. The University has educated over 4.5 Lacs students in the past and continues to teach over thousands more. Hence, it is a good university for candidates wanting to study a distance course.

The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

Annamalai University highest package data is not released. However, as per NIRF report 2025, BTech and MTech median package recorded in 2024 was 2.5 LPA and 4.26 LPA. MBA median package in 2024 was 2.45 LPA.
