Bharathiar University Course Admissions 2026: Fee, Date, Application & Selection

Bharathiar University admission to the PG course is through the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET). This state-level entrance exam is conducted by Anna University. Eligible students who submitted application on time are further shortlisted based on scores in TANCET. These selected students further are required to go through the centralised counselling conducted by the Government College of Technology, Coimbatore.

The minimum eligibility requirement for BA course admission is a class 12 or equivalent examination pass with a qualifying percentage. Candidates further must have been awarded the UG degree by a recognised board. The university also shortlists candidates for selection based on aggregate in Class 12/or equivalent exams. Further, aspirants must have the pass certificate at the time of form filling and admission for verification.

As per the sources, a total of 4,322 seats are reserved for MBA at Bharathiar University. Majority of seats are reserved for Kodai International Business School, American University of India, Hindusthan College of Arts and Science [HICAS] college. 

Candidates who have passed class 12 with required subjects from a recognised board are eligible for admission Bharathiar University. In addition to this, student must have studied the relevant subject such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics depending upon the applied BSc specialisation. Furthermore, the selection is based on the applicants scores in NCHMCT JEE/ JEE Main. Based on merit in the entrance exam, the university carries out the seat allotment process.

Bharathiar University MCA admission is based on candidates' scores in the TANCET exam conducted by Anna University. Candidates seeking admission to the MCA course must visit the University’s official website of the university to register themselves. The university further announces the results and the shortlisted candidates following which seat allotment is carried out.

Bharathiar University BSc eligibility criteria is different for both BSc and BSc (Blended) courses which is based on performance of candidates in the previous qualifying exams and entrance tests. Given below the detailed Bharathiar University selection criteria for BSc and BSc (Blended) courses:

Candidates who fulfil the educational requirements as prescribed by the university become eligible for admission. For eligibility, the aspirant shall be a graduate with a valid BCA, B.Sc. (Computer Science/ Computer Technology/ Information Technology/ Computer System and Design) or equivalent with Mathematics as a course at Higher Secondary level or at Graduate level. 

PG qualifying examination marks shall be converted to 50. A candidate who secures 25 marks out of 50 marks in the qualifying degree and secures an aggregate of 25 marks out of 50 marks comprising both CET and interview shall be declared qualified for admission into PhD programme. In order to get admission at Bharathiar University for PhD, the candidate has to meet the educational qualifications as listed in the table below- 

Bharathiar University BCom fees 2024 ranges from INR 1,400 to INR 3.30 Lakhs according to the specialisations and the colleges offering the programme. Apart from the tuition fee, candidates are also required to pay the application fee, one-time admission fee and hostel fee (if any).  

Bharathiar University offers a three-year BCom programme at the UG level. The admission to the programme is based on merit in Class 12. To be eligible to pursue BCom at Bharathiar University, a candidate must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate score of 50%. Hence a candidate scoring less thant 50% in Class 12 is not eligible to apply for BCom at the university. Such candidate can still pursue a BCom at other universities/institutes.
