BIT Mesra allot seats to the applicants based on their scores in the accepted examinations. There are over 100 seats for the integrated MSc programmes at the institute. The seat intake varies for each of the course specialisation. In addition, the maximum number of seats are available for the integrated MSc in Mathematics and Computing course, i.e., 77. There are 37 seats each for Physics and Quantitative Economics and Data Science course.

Birla Institute of Technology Mesra considers CAT score for admission to MBA programme. However, it is not compulsory for the aspirants to have a valid CAT score. Aspirants can also get admission through MAT, XAT or CMAT scores. Selected candidates have to further pass the group discussion and personal interview round for final selection.

BIT MESRA offers BTech in full-time mode in UG level for the duration of 4 years. There are 10 specialisations that BIT MESRA offers in BTech with an annual intake of 960 students, all specialisations combined. Admission to BTech is offered based on valid scores of accepted entrance exams such as JEE Main. Candidates shortlisted based on the exam score must appear for the JoSAA counselling. If the seats are left vacant after this counselling, then seat allotment for BIT Mesra is carried out through CSAB. 

BIT MESRA BTech fee structure includes tuition fees worth INR 13.35 Lakh. The graduates recieved an average package of INR 10.6 LPA, as per the recent placement drive.
