Central university of Punjab .
Placements: The course is nice and detailed, it has very elaborate syllabus. The syllabus is mostly skill based and can help an individual in gaining knowledge and training of multiple programming languages like python and R. There is no availability of companies by university, you mostly have to search it on your own. Other than that in research field multiple students join various central research labs and their projects as research assistant and kick start their careers in research.
Infrastructure: Library is the best Part of university. With well furnished buildings, AC and good study environment. The timings are also of wide range. Wi-Fi is available all over academic block, in classes, labs and library too. If we talk about hostel then it's not that good. In summers it get very hot and humid. AC in not available in hostel rooms. Watercoolers and washrooms are there on every floor.2 lifts and 8 floors in each building. 2 hostels for girls and 2 for boys.
Faculty: Yes teachers are helpful and qualified mostly. The teaching is average to excellent here, depends on the teachers. The course curriculum is relevant and updated, skill based. It does make students industry ready as well as research. Semester exams are moderate to tough. Every semester has mid term and end term exams.
Other: I chose the course because it was skill-based and I had interest in topics.

Go for it, and you will not regret it.
Placements: No student got placed in my course. There was no placement facility for this course. Some courses had placements like M.Tech, etc. Other than that, there were no placements on campus. Especially for our course, there were no placements.
Infrastructure: The library is decent. It has 3 floors and good seating arrangements with good Wi-Fi and air-conditioned all the time. The department has 2 big labs and mini cabins for professors. Our department runs only on a dry lab. It has good Wi-Fi and air conditioning. It is working quite well. To be honest, the hostel is very good but does not have sufficient rooms for students. Some students in every batch don't get hostel seats as there are limited seats which is a drawback. But in the curriculum, it is mentioned that every student gets the hostel room accommodation. But now, the condition is that half of the students mainly boys only get the hostel. Some have to suffer living outside the campus in PGs. Other than that, the hostel building is new. Washrooms are neat every time. Sometimes, Wi-Fi does not work properly in hostels. We have 2 messes. The quality of the food is average. Different dishes are prepared every day including South Indian dishes. The mess is co-ed and is air-conditioning. Nearby mess, there is a canteen shop, and near to it. There is a dairy shop. Medical facilities are not up to the mark. There is only one ambulance on the campus. There is a health center on the campus that will only do first aid, but if a person has some emergency, he or she has to go outside. Sometimes, they go to Bhatinda AIIMS which is 30 km from the campus. Sports facilities are below average. As the campus is new, there is no dedicated sports ground for a particular sport. There are no coaches. Equipment is very less. Students bring their own games. Cricket, badminton, football, handball, and kabaddi are the main games. They conduct inter-university tournaments throughout the year. I participated in cricket for the AIU (Association of Indian Universities).
Faculty: Faculty members are very cooperative and helpful. Our department Computational Science have 3 courses M.Sc. Bioinformatics, M.Sc. Computational Chemistry M.Sc. Computational Physics. There are 6-8 faculty members for the entire department. Teachers are helpful and skillful. Only a few government colleges have a computational Science department. It is a futuristic course and students find it new and interesting. Semesters are moderate difficult.
Other: M.Sc. bioinformatics is a growing course with NGS and computer plus biology is coming new era in the field of medicine, data, agriculture, etc. It plays a major role in every sector. I wish I had known some computer languages before like Python and R which will be important throughout the course and after the course in companies and further academics too. The best thing on the campus is the people there. The weather here is extreme and there are kind-hearted people. In the beginning, you will find it difficult but after you make friends there, you will not realise when these 2 years just passed. You are going to enjoy the company of people there. I'm sure that once you complete the course here you will definitely say that these were the best 2 years of my life that I lived. You will learn the life.
