CMI Entrance Exam PhD Application Form 2025, Registration: Know How to Apply

Eligibility criteria for BSc courses in CMI Entrance Exam:

• Should have passed Class 12 or similar examination from a recognised board with Maths.
• There is no age limit.
• Appeared for National Science Olympiad and secured exceptionally good marks
• CMI Entrance Exam is very competitive exam and it is important to start preparing early. 

Below are the eligibility criteria for the courses offered by CMI Entrance Exam:

• BSc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Computer Science: 12th standard or equivalent.
• BSc. (Hons.) Mathematics and Physics: 12th standard or equivalent.
• MSc. in Mathematics: Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc, BE, BTech, …) with a strong background in mathematics.
• MSc. in Computer Science: Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc, BE, BTech, …) with a strong background in computer science.
• MSc. in Data Science: Undergraduate degree (BA, BSc, BE, BTech, …) with a background in mathematics/statistics/computer science.
• PhD. in Mathematics: B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc. (Math)/M.Sc. (Math).
• PhD. in Computer Science: B.E/B.Tech/M.Sc. (C.S.)/M.C.A.
• PhD. in Physics: M.Sc. (Physics).

As per the previous year trends the Chennai Mathematical Institute (CMI) typically conducts its entrance exam once a year. 

The CMI (Chennai Mathematical Institute) entrance exam typically conducts in May. Students will get admissions to undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programs in computer science, mathematics, and data science.

The CMI exam is an important step for admission, though PhD admissions may also use tests like GATE/JEST/UGC-CSIR NET. 

Students need to follow this process to download CMI entrance exam 2026:

• Visit CMI website.
• Click on Application Procedure 
•  Enter email address click on submit button and an email will be sent to registered email ID.
•  Application ID and password will be sent to the registered email address.

• Enter application number & password in the login window

• Proceed to pay CMI 2026 application fee in online mode.

CMI Entrance Exam 2026 for the academic cycle 2026-2027 will be conducted on May 2 (Saturday).

The exam authorities of CMI Entrance Exam 2026 has announced the CMI exam registration dates on their official website. As per the exam authority notice, candidates can fill out the CMI entrance exam 2026 registration portal from  March 1, 2026. Interested applicants can visit the official website and check the details from there.

Chennai Mathematical Institute will release the CMI Entrance exam 2026 notification for the academic session 2026-2027 in the second week of February.

But the CMI entrance exam has already released the exam date and the CMI 2026 application process will begin on March 1, 2026.
