Q:   Which is better college to pursue for CSE, DTU or IIIT Delhi?
A:

JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 1 cutoff 2025, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General AI category was 2285. While for IIT Delhi it was 8171.

Therefore, going by the cutoff for both institutions, IIT Delhi is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Although those candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to consider for a better, more knowledgeable decision.

Q:   Is DTU Tier 1 college?
A:

Delhi Technological University (DTU), is defenitely a Tier 1 college. DTU was established in 1941 and the oldest IIT was established in around 1951 . DTU Delhi is accredited by the NAAC with an 'A' grade and NBA and is also approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC) and AICTE. DTU College is ranked 61 under the Overall category by NIRF 2023,  40 under the University category by NIRF 2023, and 29 under the Engineering category by NIRF 2023. The university is ISO-certified and earlier was affiliated with the University of Delhi.

Q:   Which is a better option for BBA: IP University or DTU?
A:

IP University is one of the decent options for BBA provided the student is pursuing it from one of the top colleges under GGSIPU (or IP University). Considering the fact that IPU is older and the reputation it has built for its BBA programme over the years, it can be taken as a better option out of the two. However, BBA from DTU has its own advantages, DTU is a public University and has a brand value of its own. Students must also do a quick comparison of the fee charged by both the universities and the average salary offered to the BBA passouts of IP University and DTU and then take a decision. To conclude, affordability, nearness (or location), commute and future objective behind choosing a college are some of the factors that you must consider before selecting a college.

Q:   Which is a better option for BBA: NSUT or DTU?
A:

Both these institutes are decent options for BBA in all the aspects, such as its placements and fee structure. But most students choose DTU over NSUT because of the huge campus and big crowd. However, selecting a college depends completely on the choice of the students and their requirements. For more reviews on BBA from DTU, check out the verified students' reviews on Shiksha.

Why I chose DTU over other JAC colleges.
Placements: From what I have seen, around seniors and me, placements in my branch (CSE) are actually pretty strong with a good median package of 18 LPA. Almost everyone who is serious about placements ends up getting placed, so it is roughly 90-95%. The highest package offered is currently around 90 LPA, but those are rare. For most students, the average package offered ranges from 15-22 LPA. Companies like Google, BlackRock, Microsoft, Meesho, Amazon, Uber, and Goldman Sachs visit the college regularly, which is a big plus point. Internships are also quite common, and many get PPOs directly from those.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is quite decent, especially for CSE, software, IT, and MCE branch students. It is more than enough, as we have a special building called the twin towers. The department has well-equipped computer labs with updated systems. There is campus-wide Wi-Fi (though speed fluctuations occur) and classrooms with projectors. The library is spacious, useful, especially during exams, with a good collection of academic books and a proper reading area. Hostel facilities are manageable. Rooms are okay, not luxury, but livable. Mess food is average (sometimes good and some days not so great). The canteens offer a variety of food.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality varies. Some are very helpful, and others rely more on self-study. The course curriculum covers core CS fundamentals, but students still need extra effort (coding and projects) to be industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty. The pass percentage is generally high, with most students clearing exams if they start just before exams.
Other: I chose this college and course because of its flexibility. I have enough time here to focus on other things. The crowd is very good. Events and fests are the best here. There are also major scholarships for students, which is also a very good plus point.

DTU good or bad - reality.
Placements: Till January, around 45 percent of students are placed. Now the mass recruiter has come, who has taken most of the students, so now the average package will go down, and normal will increase. So we can say till today the average is 16 LPA to 17 LPA, and it will decrease to 12 LPA to 13 LPA till the end of the session.
Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi is very poor, don't rely on Wi-Fi. In the hostel, there is no range you will have to buy your own. In summer, there is no water available in the hostel, the water is scarce. Kindly go for PG in 1st year, it will be good to take PG.
Faculty: The course is for about 15-20-year-old. It's not very helpful. Most students pass. No changes are made in the curriculum, but according to the new rules. Many students get back because they are not able to pass the exam. The semester exams are not much higher level, they are easy and moderate.

It has strong placements, a competitive environment, decent infrastructure, and average academics.
Placements: Around 85-90 percent of students got placed in the last passing ECE batch. The highest domestic package offered is 60 LPA. The average package offered ranges from 14-15 LPA. Major recruiters are Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Qualcomm, Nvidia, etc. Around 75-80 percent of students secured internships in similar firms. Roles like software developer, data analyst, embedded systems engineer, VLSI design engineer, etc., are offered here.
Infrastructure: ECE is in the old department, but it is fairly good. As a hosteller myself, girl's VLB hostel is excellent. It is fully air-conditioned and provides girls with excellent security. Wi-Fi is good as well, although it troubles us sometimes. The hostel provides us with a study room, a pantry, a laundry area, an all-night canteen, and even an activity area to chill. The mess is fairly good. There's a health centre 24x7 for all students. There are both indoor and outdoor courts and a gymnasium for both boys and girls in sports complex.
Faculty: Teachers in the 1st year are qualified and knowledgeable, but helpfulness depends on teacher to teacher. Teaching quality is alright. The course curriculum in 1st year is very basic and not really relevant. Semester exams are extremely easy. A good percentage of students pass easily.
Other: Based on my rank, the ECE branch is the best as it opened doors for me in tech as well as non-tech and core fields, so I chose it. DTU is popular for its college life. This year, the number of fests and events in college has significantly decreased. Connectivity is good with the nearest metro station being Rithala and Samaypur Badli. The campus surroundings are not really good and safe. Scholarships are provided based on financial conditions.

A perfect campus and career college.
Placements: Placements depended on the placement coordinator and how he approached the companies for the package and placement. Alumni were present in almost every company, which could be beneficial. The company came to college and came for multiple seats, so it's overall good.
Infrastructure: The college provided all the basic infrastructure for students. Classrooms were well-maintained with good Wi-Fi. The library was very good and peaceful. The food in the canteen and mess was good. Sports facilities were also available. Gym, football, cricket, badminton, volleyball, basketball were there.
Faculty: Overall, it's balanced, the faculty were helpful and managerial. Faculty members were supportive and always ready to help with your doubts and career guidance. The course curriculum was well designed for both practical and theoretical aspects, as well as for placement, how to approach and all.
Other: Campus life was perfect, you're going to meet different people (especially if you live in the DTU hostel). Next level life, you will get here.

B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2029

In short, if you want to enjoy your campus life while learning new skills.
Placements: Nearly 60-70% of students get placed with an average package of 15-16 LPA. It's surely comparable with top-tier NITs. But the competition is very high to get a job, as there are more than 2500 students graduating each year with the dream of getting a job. In mechanical, the highest package goes around 30-35 LPA, and the average is around 10 LPA. Maruti and other big companies visit the campus for placement, along with many non-tech opportunities in top non-tech firms. Getting an internship is really hard on campus, only 10-15% student secure it.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is very well maintained, with a lush green campus, and labs have all the necessary equipment. The library is also filled with a sufficient number of books. Hostels are also decent, and they are located at a distance from your house to the college. Mess and canteen food are just decent to survive. There is a huge cricket court, a football ground, and all other sports facilities are available. There are very good players in the DTU sports team.
Faculty: The faculty here is very good, with most of the teachers having high-quality degrees. One of the most famous teachers in our college is HC Verma, sir. If you want to gain good knowledge, they will surely help you in that. They are also pretty cool, but the backlog fees for the exam are 7500, which are very high compared to any other college in India.

Great college for exploring yourself.
Placements: I am in the Software Engineering department, so as of now, in the SE branch, most get placed, and the average package is very good. The average package is around 20 LPA, and the highest is around 80 LPA. Good college, good placement. Mainly, all the top companies come for recruitment in our college.
Infrastructure: The hostel is okay. Labs are fine in college. Classrooms are good, especially the new one and also the academic block one. Hostels are also good, but for the first year, they have to make compromises in many things, like some facilities. Some of my friends like the hostel, but I don't.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful in just providing the syllabus. You have to study by yourself more to score well and maintain a good CGPA. The course is relevant but kind of outdated. It can help students to prepare for industrial readiness. The SE branch's first year is difficult compared to other branches. The course is good.
Other: College is a bit expensive.

If we talk about the reviews, DTU is better than NSIT. Students have shown great interest in the DTU placements and quality of education over the years. Whereas, NSIT is also gaining popularity among the students. Which is better or best depends on the student's preference.
