Candidates are admitted to the MBA programmes based on Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science Common Aptitude Test (HITSCAT) score. The aptitude exam is conducted by the institute for admission to its non-engineering courses. HITSCAT exam paper is divided into two parts: English and General Knowledge section + multiple choice questions related to the chosen subject. Apart from this for admission, it is also necessary that the aspirants fulfil the prescribed eligibility requirements. 

Hindustan University offers a three-year LLB course as a professional program. This course is approved by the Bar Council through the School of Law. At Hindustan University, students get to learn the fundamentals of Law with real-time situations and practical implementations. During the commencement of this course, students get wide exposure to industry collaboration with associations such as Surana and Surana International Attorneys, which is associated with the ILSA. The registrations for HITSCAT are expected to open soon. Admission to MBA at HITS Chennai is based on this exam score. Thus, aspirants are advised to stay updated with its dates. As per the past years' records, the HITSCAT application windw generally open in Dec. It is further closed by May month of the admission year.

The eligibility criteria defines the required educational qualifications for a candidate to become eligible for admission. The applicants of MBA courses must have a valid bachelor's degree passed from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% aggregate. This is applicable for most of the courses. For some MBA programmes, the aspirants should have passed the mentioned UG courses: BCom/BCom (Corporate)/BBA/BISM/BBM/BSc (Maths/ Physics/ Chemistry/ IT/ Computer Science)/BA (Economics)/BE/ BTech/AMIE/AMAeSI/BCA/BArch/BPharm to three-year Diploma awarded by the State Board of Technical Education.

HITS offers various scholarships to students belonging to the SC/ ST/ EWS category. Meritorious students are also given the privilege of scholarships. Some of the Hindustan University scholarships are as follows:

• SC/ ST Scholarship Government of India: Candidates, who belong to Tamil Nadu and have completed Class 12, are eligible for this scholarship. The annual income of the parents should not exceed INR 1 LPA. The candidates should not be in receipt of another scholarship/assistance from other sources. The scholarship can be renewed every year.
• Merit cum Means Scholarship: The top scorers in Class 12 are awarded financial aid to pursue their higher studies in HITS. This scholarship is aimed at meritorious students from weaker sections.
• Sports Scholarship: It gives special importance to the students who have excelled in sports over the years under its Sports Quota.
• Dr Elizabeth Verghese Founder Scholarship: This scholarship has been instituted to empower girls with academic potential to pursue higher education and those who are from lower-income families.
• Merit Scholarship: The institute offers a tuition fee waiver for meritorious students.

The exam-conducting authority conducted the HITSEEE 2024 exam from May 3 to May 10, 2024. The course range of this university is vast with more than 100 courses offered at the UG, PG, and PhD levels. These include- BBA, BTech, BCA, BSc, BCom, MTech, etc. 

HITSEEE 2026 will be conducted from April 2026 to May 2026. The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science will start the admission process for HITSEEE 2026 from April 2026. The mode of the HITSEEE 2026 application form is online, with an application fee cost of INR 2129/-  for all categories.

Multiple-choice questions will be asked in HITSEEE exam to check students' proficiency in fundamental subjects, including Maths, Physics, Chemistry, English, General Knowledge. The top scorers at national level will get a merit-based scholarship to do their graduate studies at HITS.
