NIRF 2025 Rankings are out. As per the latest NIRF 2025 rankings, Indraprastha IIT Delhi ranks #63 under the category 'Engineering'.
The UCEED 2026 results have been announced for admission to the BDes course. The counselling is scheduled to begin on Apr 21, 2026.
A few more updates are given below:
- The JAC Delhi 2026 counselling registration window for admission to the BTech course will tentatively open in May 2026.
- PG Diploma in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence (Online mode) admissions are open. Candidates can apply for the course through the official institute's website.
- The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses has concluded. Results are scheduled for release on Mar 19, 2026.

Admission to the IIIT Delhi PhD programmes is merit and entrance-based. Shortlisted candidates have to go through an interview round for final selection. The accepted entrance exams are GATE/ UGC NET/CSIR NET. Based on the candidates' scores in the accepted exam, the candidates are shortlisted. For some of the PhD programmes, aspirants are shortlisted for the interview based on aggregate in the last qualifying examination.

IIIT Delhi admit candidates to a few courses without any entrance examination. IIIT Delhi provides international placements to its students. The highest international package recorded during IIIT Delhi placements 2025 was INR 107 LPA. A total of 9 international offers were made in 2025.
The cutoff trend for BTech at IIIT Delhi has been decreasing in the recent years. In 2024, the closing rank for BTech under general category for all India quota was 10559. In 2023, it improved to 8670. Similar cut off trend can be seen for female candidates under all categories however the ranks are slightly different.
As per the NIRF 2024 ranking under the “Engineering” category, IIIT Delhi ranks 85 among the top Engineering institutes of the country. The total fee for MTech in IIIT Delhi ranges between INR 3.7 lakh and INR 6 lakh. NIT Trichy MTech fee is INR 1.4 lakh. JEE Main rank is accepted by both DTU and IIT Delhi, followed by the JAC Delhi counselling process for admission to various BTech specialisations. According to the JAC Delhi Round 1 cutoff 2025, the closing rank for CSE admission for the General AI category was 2285. While for IIT Delhi it was 8171.
Therefore, going by the cutoff for both institutions, IIT Delhi is relatively easier for CSE admissions. Although those candidates who qualified for DTU can view other parameters to consider for a better, more knowledgeable decision.
