Section 3- General test

Yes, IMU CET is compulsory to get admission into BSc courses at IMU Chennai. All six campuses of the Indian Maritime University (IMU) accept the scores of the IMU CET for admission to BSc. Thus, to get enrolled in this course, applicants are required to fill out the IMU CET application form and pay the application fee. Further, the university conducts a counseling process for admission confirmation.

The primary eligibility requirements for admissions to BTech courses at IMU Chennai are that candidates must complete their Class 12 from the PCM stream with at least an aggregate of 60% and 50% in English at the Class 10 & 12 levels. Additionally, the campus requires several other requirements for admission to the BTech course. Check those factors:

• Age Limit: For males—General: 25 years, OBC (NCL): 28 years, SC/ST: 30 years; For females – General: 27 years, OBC (NCL): 30 years, SC/ST: 32 years (from the commencement of the academic session).
• Medical & Vision Requirements: Candidates must be medically fit as per the Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules. Distance vision (unaided) must be 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the other. Additionally, the applicant must produce a certificate of medical fitness issued by doctors approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai.

IMU CET 2026 admit card is expected to be released in May 2026. The admission authority releases the IMU CET admit card online for eligible candidates. Candidates can download the IMU CET admit card by using their login credentials. Details regarding the exam date, timings, venue, guidelines, and more are released through the admit card of IMU CET. While reporting to the exam center, the candidates are required to present their admit card and proof of identity.
