The full form of CUET is Central University Entrance Test which is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by NTA for admission to undergraduate courses offered in various participating colleges. After the students receive their CUET scores, the university will start calling students for counselling rounds, and then other admission and selection-related processes will take place. Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based. Interested candidates can apply online for all courses on the official website of JMI or CUET.

As per the CUET UG website, students seeking admission to BA at Jamia Millia must appear for and qualify CUET exam. However, since some universities are also considering other components while giving admission to CUET-UG based courses, it could be a possibility of getting into JMI without CUET. But, this being said there is no official information on whether the university will only consider CUET UG scores or other components as well for admission, it is tough to give the right answer. Students are therefore advised to reach out to the admission office for more details. 

Economics, Hindi, Sanskrit, Spanish & Latin American Studies, French and Turkish Language & Literature will consider CUET scores for admission starting 2022. Jamia Millia Islamia offers BA (Hons) programme across 17 specialisations along with a BA programme. For all the remaining specialisations (other than the aforementioned ones, the university will conduct its own entrance exam, namely JMI Entrance Exam for final admission. However, before every other criteria, all the interested students must have completed their Class 12 with 50% aggregate.
