Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA must have passed Class 12 or SSC with a minimum aggregate ranging from 40-50%. The passing percentage is different for different specialisations offered in the BA programme. Admission to Jamia Millia Islamia for BA and BA (Hons) is subject to either CUET (conducted by NTA) or JMI entrance exam. Till 2021, admission was subject to the JMI entrance exam across all specialisations. However, starting 2022, admission to a few BA (Hons) specialisations is CUET-based and for the rest, it is university-level entrance-based. Jamia Millia Islamia is a well-known university, and one of its most unique features is its affordability. Tuition fee for all the departments at JMI ranges between 5,000 to 20,000 per year. Also, the hostel and mess fees are very minimal, totalling 38,000 for the entire year.
