No, admission to MAKAUT is based on entrance exams for courses such as BTech. Candidates wanting to get admission to MAKAUT for BTech must qualify West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations (WBJEE) exam and WBJEE Counselling. Those willing to get admission in the second year must appear for JELET (for Lateral Entry). MAKAUT also accepts JEE Main exam for BTech admission. 

MAKAUT is a premier public university located in Salt Lake, Kolkata. MAKAUT offers admission MBA course based on CAT scores through the affiliated colleges. The top affiliated colleges for MBA are Camellia School of Business Management, AIM, Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions, Budge Institute of Technology and GIMT. As per the last year's cutoff MAKAUT CAT cutoff 2022, the overall CAT Percentile required for Camellia School of Business Management was 80, whereas for AIM, Supreme Knowledge Foundation Group of Institutions, Budge Institute of Technology and GIMT, the required CAT percentile was 25. No, candidates do not have the option to change their college under Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology. If they wish to change, they are required to appear for the necessary entrance test again. However, a few articles on the internet mention that students can change their college after the first year but they are required to clear all the exams of the first year for the same. For better clarity on the subject, candidates are advised to reach out to the admission office of MAKAUT or the affiliated institute under the university. 

Candidates need to visit the MAKAUT website and download the application form. Then fill out the application form and submit it along with the required documents. After this, candidates need to pay the application fee and appear for the MAKAUT entrance exam. Candidates who are selected will be issued an admission letter. The application fee to apply is INR 500 for General and OBC category candidates and INR 250 for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates. The entrance exams accepted include MAKAUT CET WBJEE PGET, UGC NET JEMAT and GATE etc.
