Step 1: NIT Silchar BTech Application Process 2025

Admissions to the first semester of all BTech courses are made based on seats allocated by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) from the list of candidates selected by the India JEE (Main)

Step 1.1: Visit the official website of the accepted entrance exam, i.e., JEE Mains

Step 2: Applicants are required to register themselves on the portal by filling out the registration form.

Step 3: Fill out the application form by duly providing the specified details, such as personal details and educational qualifications.

Step 4: Upload the required documents.

Step 5: Pay the NIT Silchar BTech application fee/ JEE Mains application fee.

Step 6: Submit the application form to complete your application.

Step 2: JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA Counselling

Candidates who qualify for the entrance exam and get good scores in the JEE Mains entrance exam must appear for counselling (JoSAA/ CSAB/ DASA). During the counselling process, select the NIT Silchar. Further, candidates are required to choose their preferred engineering branches during the choice-filling process.

Step 3: Selection Criteria & Release of Merit List

After the counselling process, the institute releases the cutoff or opening ranks for BTech specialisations. In continuation, candidates with equal or higher ranks/scores can participate in seat allotment.

Step 4: Document Verification and Physical Reporting in the College

Once they secure a spot, they need to submit the original or/ copy of certain documents physically to the college. The physical reporting date or document submission schedule can be changed every academic year.
