It has good infrastructure, but a bad climate in the summer. There are exceptional peers.
Placements: I'm not sure about the percentage of students who got internships or placements. I suggest that students just check it out on the college website. It is legitimate. But to be frank, the packages offered in core, as I know, in production are very few. But this branch is special in offering the connection between management and technical fields. Excellent packages and placements are available in non-core fields, especially consulting and management. The branch is a chill one, which offers ample time for studying anything or extracurricular activities.
Infrastructure: The library facility, octagon, or if I say anything in the college, is just on a different level, except for hostels. Being a college affiliated with NIRF 9, we expect much better from their side in hostel management. There is no responsibility on their part if a theft happens. Actually, two laptops were stolen. The library must have a proper internet connection, which is bad. The hostel is improving right now with proper renovation after our complaints. It serves very good mess food. I'll say much better than any college. Since I've been in some.
Faculty: Teachers are exceptionally qualified. But as we might know, as qualifications increase, attitude increases. Most faculty members are top-notch, leaving a very few. The course curriculum is fine. I'll say leave the teaching part apart, it depends on our luck. We will get very good teachers with very good character and a helpful nature, too. But in the end, self-study matters.
Other: Fests are good, but with some restrictions. But academically, students will never regret joining this college. I'll guarantee that. I'm saying this with just 1 year of experience. The amount of exposure I got within one year is incredible. Students and hostel life are too good here.

It has one of the best placement records. Classes are a bit hectic, but overall, it's good.
Placements: There is an 80 percent placement rate in B.Tech civil engineering. The lowest package offered is 3 LPA, and the highest package offered is 33 LPA. For tech fields, companies like Microsoft and Google, and for core companies like Dalmia, ACC Cement, L&T, etc., hire students. Internships are not very common in this branch, so we have to fight a bit more compared to other branches.
Infrastructure: The hostel and mess facilities are among the best across all NITs and IITs. We have high-speed Wi-Fi in each room. The mess food is great compared to other top colleges. There is a curfew for first-year boys. For girls, it is for all four years. We have an NIT Hospital for medical issues or emergencies. NIT Trichy has one of the top sports infrastructures.
Faculty: Faculty members here are not as good as those at primary IITs. This institution has a relevant curriculum, but some subjects, like engineering graphics, feel outdated. Apart from these, we will enjoy our studies. Semester exams are not a big deal. We can score good grades even if we start to study just 3-4 days before the exam.

Amazing college with decent facilities. But the climate is very hot and there is language barrier.
Placements: The percentage of placements in our course is really nice, it is more than (94)%. Nvidia, Texas Instruments, Qualcomm, Micron, Synapse, Google, Amazon, Oracle, TCS, Wipro, Bajaj, etc. (These are mixed companies for electronics, software, and electrical). Chip designer, electro manager, developed (to be honest, I don't know much about the role they offer). The highest and lowest salary is average.
Infrastructure: The facilities are not up to the mark. There are equipments in our lab, but very less in number, and that too sometimes does not work properly. We don't even have the basic facilities like water purifier, it's very hard for us to fill our water bottles from different hostels. We have good computer lab and library, but we don't have Wi-Fi in library. The quality is really nice, they provide amul butter, kellogg's corn flakes, fresh bread, and fruits (It varies from mess to mess, but overall quality is good). But North-Indians may not like the taste initially.
Faculty: EEE is the toughest branch. The curriculum is very vast and is not updated. We have to study many outdated things which are of no use. It's really very hard to manage the course with clubs and fest teams. Many times we have to select one of them. But, we have the advantage of having many options for placements as we have a very vast curriculum. I like the exam pattern, like CT1, CT2, at end-semester. I would say all the things depend on the proof.
Other: I selected the course because I like the electronics domain so much. We have a very good bond with our classmates as our course is very tough so, we are forced to do all assignments and projects together only. It should be updated, and the extra things should be removed to relax the students.

I felt absolutely good about joining this college because of its good infrastructure and placements.
Placements: Now I am a fresher here. If we look at the placements at NIT Trichy, they are amazing. To be honest, I am from the Civil Engineering branch, so we cannot expect high packages, but our seniors get into many PSUs. The alumni here help the most with placements. Last year, nearly 78% of students were placed in my course. The highest package is 34 LPA and 20 LPA for core jobs.
Infrastructure: Facilities on campus are good. We can find everything in the campus supermarket (2k). If we talk about the hostels, as you know, NIT Trichy is an old college, so it has very old hostels, but the good thing is that they have been renovated this year. Wi-Fi is very good. For the first few years, they accommodated us in the Kailesh mess. The food here is not very good, but in the second year, we can choose any mess we want, and those are very good.
Faculty: Faculty here is outstanding. Everyone has in-depth knowledge. They have completed their PhDs or Master's from top institutes in India. They are very helpful and provide a faculty mentor, which is the best thing I have ever experienced. If we talk about the semester exams, the grading is relatively strict, so professors give moderately difficult papers.
Other: I chose this course because it is the branch I got into at NIT Trichy. The best thing about this course is that there is more scope for it in the future. It is one of the oldest courses in NIT Trichy. If we talk about the events, they are amazing. After working hard for JEE, the events here are worth it. It is an 800-acre campus, and there are around 6000–7000 students in NIT Trichy. The connectivity includes various clubs and communities, which provide good interactions.

The institute offers strong academics and campus life, with scope for better industry exposure.
Placements: CSE / IT placements are around 95–100%, while the overall placement percentage at NIT Trichy is above 90%. The highest package offered is 45–55 LPA from international and top product companies, the average package is 25–30 LPA, and the lowest package is 6–8 LPA. Top recruiters include Google, Microsoft, and Amazon, and the major roles offered are Software Development Engineer (SDE), Backend / Full-Stack Developer, Data Scientist, Machine Learning Engineer, and AI Engineer.
Infrastructure: The campus provides 24×7 high-speed Wi-Fi across academic blocks and hostels. Laboratories consist of computer labs with high-performance systems. Classrooms are spacious and well-ventilated. They are equipped with smart boards, projectors, and audio systems.
Faculty: Most faculty members are highly qualified, many with PhDs from IITs, IISc, and foreign universities. Professors are strong in core fundamentals and research. The curriculum is updated regularly as per AICTE guidelines and industry trends. Strong fundamentals help crack top tech interviews. Labs and projects build problem-solving skills. The difficulty level is moderate to slightly difficult.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering because it is a core engineering branch. It plays a vital role in nation-building and infrastructure development. The course allows me to understand how real-world structures like buildings, bridges, roads, and dams are designed and constructed. Studying Civil Engineering at NIT Trichy, which has a strong reputation, experienced faculty, and excellent labs, gives both theoretical strength and practical exposure. Excellent faculty, strong fundamentals, and well-equipped labs.

NITT is very good and worth joining.
Placements: Almost 100% of students get placed in CSE. About 70% of students get an internship in software and management. Companies like Google, Goldman Sachs, and P&G come for placements and internships and offer packages ranging from 10 LPA to 40 LPA. The average package is 25+ LPA.
Infrastructure: NIT Trichy offers state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure like high-speed Wi-Fi in hostels, washing machines in hostels, advanced and well-equipped labs for all departments, and very big and useful libraries. Also, there are different sports facilities and everything is very good.
Faculty: Professors are decent but highly qualified and experienced. The teaching is both theoretical and practical depending on the course. But curriculum is the same as every other top-tier college in India. Colleges are medium difficulty but almost everyone passes.
Other: Pan India level fests and performances at NITT. Scholarships are provided for EWS students and other students who require them.

Q:   What is the structure of CAT question paper?
A:

Till 2014, there were only two sections in CAT. Quantitative Aptitude was clubbed with Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning was clubbed with Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. In 2015, the Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning were clubbed together and Quantitative Aptitude and Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension made two individual sections. Since 2015, the sectional segregation has remained the same but the number of questions have come down from 100 to 66. The exam duration has also been reduced. Until 2019, the CAT exam was of 180 minutes and the total number of questions were 100. However, in 2020, the question paper structure was revised due to COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the total number of questions came down to 76. In 2021 and 2022, the number of questions were further lowered to 66. For the last two years, CAT is conducted for 2 hours, and the number of questions is 66. In CAT 2024 however, the number of questions were increased to 68.

The latest CAT question paper structure is: Total questions: 68 Number of sections: 3 Order of sections - 1. VARC 2. DILR 3. Quantitative Aptitude Sectional time limit: 40 minutes VARC questions: 24 DILR questions: 22 Quantitative Aptitude questions: 22.

Q:   Can I edit my CAT application form after submission?
A:
Once the CAT application form is submitted, candidates are not allowed to make changes in it. In case, you've made errors, you need to fill a fresh CAT application form and pay the fees again. However, editing of certain fields such as photo, signature and test city preference is allowed during form correction process which starts 2-3 days after the CAT registration process concludes. The form correction window is opened for 3-4 days during which candidates can edit only these three fields. If they have made a mistake in any other field, they cannot edit it. No request for changes is accepted by the examination authorities. Thus, it is very important to fill the CAT application form correctly with valid details. Candidates must keep the important documents such as Aadhaar card, class 10, class 12, graduation certificates, birth Certificate address proof, work experience documents, etc. To cross check the information while filling the form. They must also be very careful in selecting Iims and courses as they will be eligible for only those Iims and courses which they shall have selected in the CAT form.

NIT Trichy stands above many newly formed IITs. All the newly established IITs are still growing & also need improvement to stand at par with an NIT established in 1964. IITs such as IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi are still leading the race, and the gap between these IITs and NIT Trichy is huge.
