No other major university in the region is allowing students to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously so far and it is said that PU may be the first one to do so. However, the guidelines are applicable only to the students pursuing academic programmes other than Ph.D. programmes. Based on the guidelines, the universities can devise mechanisms through their statutory bodies for allowing their students to pursue two academic programmes simultaneously the UGC has said while notifying the guidelines.

University Business School (UBS) Chandigarh originally was called the Department of Trade and Business Administration of Punjab University that was established in 1995. It has a well-known reputation of being of the highest quality, and it was always ranked among the leading business schools in India. UBS Chandigarh boasts of the 25 th position in the NIRF Ranking 2022 Under Universities Category and 23 rd position in the IIRF Yearly Ranking.

Studies in Panjab University are at par with the leading Educational Institutes in our country. It was even the highest ranked Indian Institute for a while according to a survey by Times Higher education. Should have passed FA/F.Sc./ A level or equivalent examination with a minimum of 55% marks. Should have passed the Law Admission Test (LAT) with 50% passing marks and with a validity date for admission. Must have appeared in the PU Admission Test conducted by Punjab University. To be eligible for the three-year PU LLB course, a candidate must have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks or 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
