Q:   Can I join Pondicherry University without entrance exam?
A: 

Admission to a majority of postgraduate and integrated postgraduate level courses at Pondicherry University is subject to CUET UG and CUET PG exams. In addition to this, the university also conducted the NCET exam for admission to its Integrated BA-B.Ed, Integrated BSc-B.Ed courses. Candidates seeking admission to Pondicherry University can apply for these exams and then apply to the university with a valid score.

Q:   Does Pondicherry University provide Distance Education to the students?
A: 

Apart from the full-time programmes, the University offers distance education programmes in the field of Management, Commerce, Arts, Business Administration and more. Admission to all these programmes is done on the basis of merit.

  • BBA and BCom are offered at the UG level. The course duration of both programmes is three years. Candidates who have done Class 12 can apply for these programmes. The final selection of students is based on the HSC scores.
  • Apart from the UG programmes, the University offers three PG programmes under distance education. MCom, MA and MBA are offered with a course duration of two years. A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream to be eligible for these programmes. The final selection of students will be based on the graduation scores.

Pondicherry University scholarships are offers various on merit and need basis. The scholarship is given to all PG programmes. Names of some of the scholarships are listed below:

Q:   What is the last date for filling CUET application form?

National Testing Agency will commence CUET 2026 registration in first week of March. Soon after the release of the CUET notification candidates candidates can check the important dates pertaining to CUET 2026. The last date for CUET 2026 registration will be notiifed aling with the last date for payment of fee. 

Candidats will be required to fill the CUET application form within the given time frame, failing which no request for extension of the CUET registration last date will be entertained. NTA does not provide the window for late fee payment. CUET 2026 application process will be in online mode. No physical copies of the CUET application form must be sent to the authorities.

Good college and infrastructure.
Placements: 5th semester students are eligible for the placements. Not many companies 2 to 4 companies visited our college. They selected a few candidates by interview. Students are doing jobs in corporations. The highest package offered was 3.2LPA and the lowest package offered was 1.8LPA.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good for a engineering college. ATM and a bank inside the college. There was a garden that contained a good space for entertainment. Labs were spacious and had a good number of pc. Classrooms were spacious and digitally updated. The hostel was good. Mess food was average. There was a cricket ground volleyball court badminton court and indoor playground available.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They were highly educated and experienced. The course was unique and good. Teachers use simple language that was easy to understand. There were two semesters in a year. There were presentations and journals in each semester.

Infrastructure is good it made us feel secure.
Placements: First of all placements were average. Do not expect too much from a Central University. Selected companies like TCS Cognizant and Wipro visited the college. The highest package offered was 2.7LPA and the lowest package offered was 1.8LPA. Some students got internship from TCS. The above data is for my passout year.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good. Wi-Fi all over the campus with CCTV security. There were cricket ground volleyball court badminton court swimming pool, and multiple indoor courts present. Hostels were good they were spacious and 2 seated. Labs and classrooms were spacious and digitally updated. Library was good it opened at night.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They were highly educated and experienced. They were aware of what the students wanted. They used simple language that was easy to understand. The course was unique which is M.Tech in Database. This was part of Cybersecurity. There were two semesters in a year which were conducted by the college.

Very good college. You had to achieve this college with a good rank.
Placements: This is a central university, and placements were not high. Very few companies like TCS, Wipro, and Tech Mahindra visited our college. They selected few students by merit. The highest package offered was 3.3 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 2.2 LPA. Few students got internships from TCS.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good. The campus was green. Wi-Fi was available all over the campus with CCTV security. Hostels were good and were 2-seated. Labs were spacious and had all apparatus used in the industry. Classrooms were spacious and digitally updated. The library was good and open at night.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They were highly educated and experienced. They cleared our doubts through discussions. The course was slightly different and unique. There were 2 semesters in a year, and each semester had two sessionals. There were many presentations and journals in this course.

Placements: Government college placements are average. BCA 2 to 3 companies visited our college. TCS, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, etc., visited our college. The highest package offered was 2.8 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 1.8 LPA. 10 to 15 students got internships from TCS in the 2nd year.
Infrastructure: The campus was good. Wi-Fi was all over the campus, and there was CCTV security. Computer labs were spacious and good. Classrooms were spacious and have been digitally updated. The library was good, and was also open at night. Hostels had an average of 2 to 3 seats. The mess food was very average. A first aid kit was available in the college and hostel.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. They were highly educated and experienced. They all did their Master's and Ph.Ds. The course was good, it makes students ready to explore a new world. There were two semesters in a year, and each semester had two sessions, which were conducted by the college. Each semester had presentations and assignments.

Library is good, with all types of books and magazines, and technology-based books are available.

Nice university and facilities. I think hostels are best at university. Its a big university, etc.
Placements: Our department has UG, PG, and PhD. In UG, there are 3 years each with 22 people, and PG intake is 75. PhD scholars, etc. The package includes 25,000. I don't know the companies. 99 percent of students got internships in many companies. Various companies include various amounts, sociologists, social workers, and professors.
Infrastructure: Our department has 6 classrooms, different cabins for each professor and phd scholars. We have Wi-Fi in our department. We have one smart classroom, a library, and computer for each school. Our hostel has water cooler on each floor, 2 fans, and 2 wardrobes in each room. It has big rooms, etc
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and understand the difficulty of students and help them. They also help us to gain confidence and help out the students who are poor. The curriculum is relevant in the present society. The semester exams are not much tough nor easy. 40 percent is the pass percentage
Other: It is my favorite subject and my plus 2 main subject. Lack of giving work and classroom shortage. Our department does not conduct any events but gives scholarships and does not provide them for us.

Q:   How can I register for Pondicherry University after clearing CUET UG?
A: 

After appearing for the CUET exam and getting a valid score in the same, students are required to register on the official website of Pondicherry University, (provided they meet the minimum eligibility) and register there for final seat allotment. A few details about the registration process, post CUET UG results are out, is as follows:

  • Register online for counselling on Pondicherry University's official website.
  • Candidates need to pay the application fees which is: INR 250 for General, EWS & OBC NCL category students and INR 150 for SC/ST candidates. For each additional subject, General, EWS & OBC NCL category students need to pay INR 100 and all SC/ST candidates are required to pay INR 50.
  • There is, however, no application fee charged for PwD and Transgender candidates.
