Candidates who are willing to enroll into the PU BA programme must qualify for the basic eligibility criteria. Moreover, the eligibility criteria vary depending on the choice of specialisation. Candidates can check the below list to know the course-wise eligibility criteria:
- English: Pass in Class 12 from any recognised board and must have studied the Hons seeking subject at the Class 12 level
- Sociology/History: Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate or Higher Secondary Certificate obtained after successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent stage of education corresponding to Level-4 (Levels in NHEQF)
- Philosophy/Political Science/Media & Communication: Passed Class 12 with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate
- French: Translation & Interpretation: Passed Class 12 with French as a second language at the Higher Secondary level (or its equivalent in other boards). In case the student has not studied French as a second language at the Higher Secondary Level, the student should either have studied French from Class six to Cass 10 at the school level or have passed the A1 DELF examination conducted by CIEP, Paris.
National Testing Agency re-commenced CUET 2026 registration on February 23, 2026. Soon after the release of the CUET notification, candidates can check the important dates about CUET 2026. The last date for CUET 2026 registration was February 26, 2026 (11.50 PM).
Candidates were required to fill the CUET application form within the given time frame, failing which no request for extension of the CUET registration last date will be entertained. NTA does not provide the window for late fee payment. CUET 2026 application process is in online mode. No physical copies of the CUET application form must be sent to the authorities.

Pondicherry University offers admission to the MD courses on the basis of valid MD PG scores, followed by the NEET PG counselling process. The expected cutoff ranks and marks for Pondicherry University NEET PG medical branches based on previous ranks is as follows for R1 for the General category:

In general, the admission process begins in March every year. For the admission session 2025-26, the application process started with the registration process of CUET on the official website of NTA. The university accepts CUET-UG for admission to its PG-integrated courses. To appear for the same, students must have completed their Class 12 with relevant subjects. Additionally, for some courses, candidates are also required to fill out the application form by visiting the university official website.

After appearing for the CUET exam and getting a valid score in the same, students are required to register on the official website of Pondicherry University, (provided they meet the minimum eligibility) and register there for final seat allotment. A few details about the registration process, post CUET UG results are out, is as follows:
- Register online for counselling on Pondicherry University's official website.
- Candidates need to pay the application fees which is: INR 250 for General, EWS & OBC NCL category students and INR 150 for SC/ST candidates. For each additional subject, General, EWS & OBC NCL category students need to pay INR 100 and all SC/ST candidates are required to pay INR 50.
- There is, however, no application fee charged for PwD and Transgender candidates.

PU‑CET (UG) has different papers for different subjects. Applicants must choose subjects based on the course they want. Each subject is a separate MCQ paper with its own marks. Your overall score is the total of the papers you attempt.
