Pondicherry University MA Admission 2023

MA is a full-time two-year programme offered at the PG level. MA is spread across four semesters, two semesters every year. It is offered in 16 different specialisations, including Sanskrit, Economics, French and more. The seat intake and eligibility criteria vary from specialisation to specialisation. Any candidate who has done a bachelor's in the relevant stream can apply for this programme. However, the final selection of students will be based on the scores obtained in an entrance test conducted by the University and the performance in PI.

Pondicherry University English - Is it worth it or not?

Placements: Only about 2% of students are placed after graduation from the university. The pay is very less for the jobs offered. The jobs mainly come from Chennai, for BPOs and school teachers with low pay. The other post that comes is not for our degree either.

Infrastructure: The department building is old, but yet it is very functional and spacious. Wi-Fi is average, but other facilities are fine. The hostel is brand new, hence it is good. The mess food is horrible, not clean at all. Medical facilities are average as well.

Faculty: Most teachers are approachable, sweet, and open-minded but some of them are usually strict for no reason. There is no discipline issue for the batch. The curriculum is outdated, except for the last semester in which the papers are relevant. The semester exams are fine. The pass percentage is above 98%.

Other: I chose this course because the combo of M.A. in English and comparative literature is not available anywhere else but here. The certificate is very valuable. I would improve the mess food quality and curriculum but the campus life is excellent. The extracurricular activities are also excellent. There is a lot of exposure.

Review of Pondicherry University.

Placements: There is a placement cell available in the university. For this course, there are no specific companies to recruit. This course is for the aspirants of UPSC and state psc and other competitive exams. But if they want to do any job for overcoming financial burden they can eligible to apply for placement opportunities when the university give prior notice.

Infrastructure: There is a huge campus and a large number of departments for each subject. There is a central library named Ananda Ranga Pillai and there is availability of hostels for everyone and there is no shortage of rooms. There are different mess and canteens for PG 1st year and 2nd year and Ph.D. scholars along different for boys and girls.

Faculty: There are well-experienced, comfortable, and qualified faculty members available in the departments. The third course is for aspirants of the UPSC and state exams. There are 100 marks for each subject 40 marks for internal exams, and 60 marks for end-semester exams. 75% attendance is mandatory and 50 marks are passing marks.

Other: The number of events and fests are conducted at university. Akanksha for MBA department, festival celebration like Onam, Pongal, Ugadi, and Diwali are celebrated well.

Campus life is too good. There is no restriction on hostel timing.

Placements: There is no campus placement, but some students cracked the UGC NET exams during their post-graduation. Some students are also preparing for UPSC, SSC, and RRB in their free time, as class hours are very few. Assistant professor is the top role for the department's students after qualifying for the NET.

Infrastructure: The Wi-Fi quality is just average. The department has a good library. The classrooms are crowded, but the department is about to move to a new building. The hostel is open 24/7 and has good facilities. The quality of the mess food is low. There are sports stadiums for various kinds of sports where we can develop your athletic abilities.

Faculty: The semester exams were simple, and the pass percentage was high. This gave me more time to focus on other entrance exams or competitive exams. Some teachers and scholars were highly experienced, while others were not. The course curriculum was okay, but it was not specialized in any section of history like JNU and other central universities.

Other: I really enjoyed the campus life at Pondicherry University. There were always a variety of events to choose from, representing different communities and occasions. The university is an absolute cultural hub for everyone, and there were no restrictions on hostel timing.

A great college with great faculty and infrastructure.

Placements: Our college provide excellent opportunities for careers in diplomacy. In our batch, more than 80% of the student secured placement successfully. The highest package papad was 10 Lacs per annum, the lowest was 4 Lacs per annum, and the average package stood at 7 Lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: Avadi department had an excellent setup with modern classroom, conference hall for seminars, and access to international publications and research in the library. The campus provided free house speed Wi-Fi, and enabling seamless access to online resources. The hostel facilities were comfortable and safe, with well furnished rooms and 24 x 7 electricity and water supply.

Faculty: The faculty for our court was exceptional, comprising scholars and professionals with expertise in geopolitics political foreign policy and global security. Interactive learning through debate, case studies, and guest lecture by diplomats and experts.

Great faculty members and facilities but considering placements very low.

Placements: There are low placements. They are not offering placements as well so I think if that one thing is added to this, it would be the best place to pursue a degree and PG. They started to provide more courses and facilities. All equipment for the study is perfect.

Infrastructure: Hostels provide great facilities. There are good coats, tables, and shelves for each student. Each student can use that. There are no timing restrictions as well. Students can relax. Around 3,2, and 1 sharing room is available.

Faculty: We have well-educated faculty members. They fix the correct order of exams. We have a well-arranged and good marking system. They conduct seminars, presentations, two internal tests, and semester exams. This is the order. They give more practical assignments as well to improve our skills.

Other: The best thing about this course is that we can learn the basics to best.
