VMOU 2026 exam is conducted by the Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU). VMOU 2026 exam is expected to be held between June to August 2026. The conducting body will release a detailed timetable and guidelines for the test on its official website.

What is VMOU Exam?

Vardhman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU), Kota, established on July 23, 1987, offers UG, PG, Diploma, and Certificate programmes in various disciplines at its designated study centres. The Open University also provides lateral entry admission. VMOU Kota admission takes place in two sessions: January and July. Students studying at VMOU are required to take two semester exams. VMOU Term End Examination (TEE) is conducted in June and December. 

For admission to UG programmes candidates must pass Class 12 from a recognised board of education. For admission to PG programmes, candidates must complete graduation from a recognised university. Admission to B Ed, MPhil, PhD, MBA, and MCA programmes are done on the basis of entrance test.

Duration for regular UG courses is three years. The duration of Bachelor of Journalism, BLibISc and various other preparatory programme is one year. The duration for Bachelor of Journalism (Lateral Entry) course is 6 months.

PG Courses: VMOU offers various masters courses such as MA, MSc, MCom, MJ, MLilSc, MCA, MSW and PG Diploma at the postgraduate level. Duration for Masters in Journalism, Master in Library & Information Science and the PG Diploma courses is one year. All the other PG level courses are offered for a duration of two years. MA course is offered in 14 different specialisations. MSc course is offered under three subjects and PG Diploma is offered in nine specialisations.

The exam process of VMOU is explained below:

Filling VMOU exam form
You have to fill out the VMOU exam form for each paper or course separately, that is required for all candidates. The exam fee for BAP, BCP, BScP, Certificate, Diploma, and Bachelor Degree courses is INR 200 per paper or course. The late fees for these courses are also INR 200 per paper. For PG Diploma and Master Degree exams, the fee is INR 300 for each paper/course. If you pay late for those, the fee is also INR 300 per paper.
VMOU Admit Card
VMOU sends out your admit card for the term end examination, it comes as a permission letter. VMOU exam admit card will be ready about one week before the exams actually start. If you are taking the term end examination, you can check and download your VMOU admit cards from the official website. You must enter your full name and your challan number to get the card downloaded.
Appearing in VMOU Exam
VMOU holds the term end examination in June and December for lots of different courses. You have to pass the exam, that is the rule, so you can move on to the next stage of your course.
Declaration of VMOU Result
The VMOU TEE result is published online on the official website. You, the student, can check your result by logging in using your ‘Scholar Number’. The result paper will show information like your personal details and all the marks you got in the term-end exam. Students who get the minimum passing marks, or more than that, are considered to have passed the exam. The candidates who qualify will be promoted based on the university's rules. Q:   What is the process of re-evaluation of answer sheet in VMOU TEE exam?
A: 

Students who fail in the exam or score less marks can opt for revaluation of the answer book. They can select a maximum of two answer books for revaluation. This is done only for the theory paper. Students cannot opt for revaluation for practical papers, internal assignments, project reports, dissertations, viva-voce, due papers, boycotted papers, special examinations, and improvement papers, etc. For re-evaluation, candidates need to apply within 15 days after the declaration of the result. The amount that candidates need to pay for revaluation is INR 300.

The improvement of marks is applicable only for UG programmes during the completion or immediately after the declaration of the result of the completion of programme. Only one opportunity will be given to candidates to improve their marks. This is allowed only in theory papers.

Re-totalling of answer books will be permitted in all theory papers in which candidates have actually appeared in term end examination. Re-totalling of answer books is not permitted for viva-voce, internal assignments, practical papers, special examination, etc. Candidates need to apply as per the prescribed format of application by paying the requisite fees. The time period for applying for re-totalling of answer books is 30 days from the date of declaration of result.
