The total number of seats in B.Tech programme of SMVDU is 350.

These 350 are classified as :

110 for computer Science engeenering,  

90 for electronics and communication engeenering,  

60 for mechanical engineering,  

60 for civil engineering,  

And 30 for electrical engineering. 

The placements at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) in 2023 were good, with an average package of INR 4.6 LPA for BTech students and INR 4.01 LPA for MTech students. The highest package offered was INR 12 LPA.

SMVDU admits students based on the rank obtained in JEE/JOSAA/CSAB/UCEED for engineering programs and CUET-UG/CUET-PG for undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Sciences, Management and Humanities. Admission in MBA programme will be based on CAT/MAT/CMAT/CUET score along with score obtained in GD/PI . In second phase for vacant seats in MBA programme CUET (PG) will be considered). Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BE/BTech courses with a duration of 4 years. Admission to this course is based on JEE Main scores and it is not possible to get admission to SMVDU Katra without JEE Main or CUET UG.

Along  with this a lot of courses are offered by this university and all have different eligiblity and criterias. All applicants have to fill the Common Application form through ONLINE Mode for admission in UG and PG programmes.The candidates will be submitting an appication fee of Rs. 1,500/- while filling the ONLINE Application Form.

Candidates must have taken their Class 12 Exam or any comparable qualifying examination in 2023 or have passed their Class 10+2 Exam or equivalent in 2020 or 2021 with at least 50% of their total marks from a recognised board to be eligible.Also, admission to MBA Course is done on the basis f CAT or MAT percentile. It should be between 80 to 90 percentile for admission in Shri Vaishno Devi University for MBA course.

Include the following paperwork with your application:
1. All prior examination mark papers.
2. Certification of graduation.
3. Score report from an accepted management admission exam, such as the CAT, MAT, or CMAT.
Enter the Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) room. Based on how well they performed on the management entrance test, the shortlisted applicants would be invited to GDPI.
Pay the final entrance fee to reserve your seat if you are admitted.

Yes, you can join Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University without MAT. If you had appeared in CAT or CMAT exam then you are eligible for merit based admission process for MBA program. If you had not appeared in above mentioned exams then you will have to give entrance exam conducted by University named SMVDUEE ( Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Entrance Exam). After qualifying the above exams you will be called up for Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

SMVDU conducts application process in two-phases. For Phase 1, the last date of closing of application forms for BTech / BArch / MSc/ MA courses is in May.  For BTech/BArch/BA/BSc/BBA, the opening date of application forms for Phase 2 are available estimately after 15 days of the declaration of results. 

First of all, candidates don't have option to avail any course via there home state quota. The SMVDU cutoff 2025 has been released for the candidates belonging to All India quota. During the SMDVU JEE Main cutoff 2025, the required rank to get into the BTech courses at institute should range between 64782 and 91814 for the General AI quota, so, candidaes applying with General AI quota can surely get admission at 30000 rank.
