The selection criteria for B.Tech. In Computer Science and Engineering change each year based on the cutoff percentiles in the JEE Mains examination and the number of seats available. The criteria may also vary for selection through the CUET examination. If we take an average, then the cutoff for computer Science is CRL 1 Lacs (approximately 90-95 percentiles).. .

According to NIRF report 2023, 164 BTech, 11 MTech, 68 MBA, 4 Integrated MBA and 13 BArch students were placed during SMVDU placements 2022. The median package offered to BTech and M.Tech students stood at INR 4.6 LPA and INR 4.01 LPA.The placements at the college are overall good and the students have good reviews about the placements.

The total number of seats in B.Tech programme of SMVDU is 350.

These 350 are classified as :

110 for computer Science engeenering,  

90 for electronics and communication engeenering,  

60 for mechanical engineering,  

60 for civil engineering,  

And 30 for electrical engineering. 

SMVDU admission process are both entrance and merit-based followed by counselling. SMVDU accepts the admission on the basis of CUET exam for most of the UG & PG courses.  For few courses such as BTech, MBA, M.Tech admission are based on JEE/CAT/MAT/GATE/CCMT. 

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. During the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 25886 for the General category students under the AII India Quota. Among OBC candidates, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stood at 8750. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BTech across five specialisations. During SMVDU cutoff 2023, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 94017, for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering was 227213, for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 402493, for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering was 657668 and for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering was 505053 for the General category All India seat. Hence, candidate with a rank of 1,35,000 in JEE Main can get a seat at SMVDU in all the specialisations except for BTech CSE as per the last year cutoff. 

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BE/BTech courses with a duration of 4 years. Admission to this course is based on JEE Main scores and it is not possible to get admission to SMVDU Katra without JEE Main or CUET UG.

Along  with this a lot of courses are offered by this university and all have different eligiblity and criterias. All applicants have to fill the Common Application form through ONLINE Mode for admission in UG and PG programmes.The candidates will be submitting an appication fee of Rs. 1,500/- while filling the ONLINE Application Form.
