According to NIRF report 2023, 164 BTech, 11 MTech, 68 MBA, 4 Integrated MBA and 13 BArch students were placed during SMVDU placements 2022. The median package offered to BTech and M.Tech students stood at INR 4.6 LPA and INR 4.01 LPA.The placements at the college are overall good and the students have good reviews about the placements.

The selection criteria for B.Tech. In Computer Science and Engineering change each year based on the cutoff percentiles in the JEE Mains examination and the number of seats available. The criteria may also vary for selection through the CUET examination. If we take an average, then the cutoff for computer Science is CRL 1 Lacs (approximately 90-95 percentiles).. .

SMVDU has a dedicated Training and Placement Cell that assists students with summer training/internships and campus placements. 

SMVDU admission process are both entrance and merit-based followed by counselling. SMVDU accepts the admission on the basis of CUET exam for most of the UG & PG courses.  For few courses such as BTech, MBA, M.Tech admission are based on JEE/CAT/MAT/GATE/CCMT. 

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers a full-time, three-year/ four-year (including research)/ five-year integrated BSc Hons programme at the undergraduate level in various specialisations. Given below is the list of specialisations offered by SMVDU for BSc Hons:

After JEE session 2 is completed, only those candidates who are aiming for IITs need to start preparing for JEE Advanced after clearing JEE Main. Those who are above the 98th percentile should start preparing for JEE Advanced as soon as possible. Those below this, between the 95th and 98th percentile, should focus on attempting more mock tests and previous year question papers so that they have a better chance of clearing JEE Advanced

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University offers BTech across five specialisations. During SMVDU cutoff 2023, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering was 94017, for B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering was 227213, for B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering was 402493, for B.Tech. in Civil Engineering was 657668 and for B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering was 505053 for the General category All India seat. Hence, candidate with a rank of 1,35,000 in JEE Main can get a seat at SMVDU in all the specialisations except for BTech CSE as per the last year cutoff. 

NIT Manipur JEE Main cutoff 2024 has been released for admission to the BTech courses. During the Round 1 cutoff, the closing rank for CSE was 25886 for the General category students under the AII India Quota. Among OBC candidates, the closing rank for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering stood at 8750. First of all, candidates don't have option to avail any course via there home state quota. The SMVDU cutoff 2025 has been released for the candidates belonging to All India quota. During the SMDVU JEE Main cutoff 2025, the required rank to get into the BTech courses at institute should range between 64782 and 91814 for the General AI quota, so, candidaes applying with General AI quota can surely get admission at 30000 rank.

Candidates must have taken their Class 12 Exam or any comparable qualifying examination in 2023 or have passed their Class 10+2 Exam or equivalent in 2020 or 2021 with at least 50% of their total marks from a recognised board to be eligible.Also, admission to MBA Course is done on the basis f CAT or MAT percentile. It should be between 80 to 90 percentile for admission in Shri Vaishno Devi University for MBA course.
