Decent college, but overcrowded.
Placements: 80% of students who applied were placed. The highest package received in 2024 was around 40 LPA, and the average package was 6 LPA. The average package decreased. Over 200 companies are coming for placements, including Amazon, Microsoft, etc. Around 50% got internships before it.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good with both classrooms and labs. Classrooms have A/C, but it feels congested as there are too many people in one class. There is Wi-Fi available in both hostels and the college, which is fast and unlimited. The food is very average, and not everyone may like it. There are facilities to play various sports, with two playgrounds free at all times.
Faculty: Teachers are okay. Some are good, some are interesting, and some are boring. The course curriculum is fairly relevant, but the courses feel unnecessary and old. It can help the students to get industry-ready, and labs help them to get hands-on experience. The exams are fairly easy to pass and score.
Other: I chose this college because of its reputation, but it's not all that. The events and fests are nice and very well done.

Best college experience at SRM.
Placements: From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Top companies like Amazon, TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HUL, HCL, and so on come for placements. I got offers from 2 companies: Infosys and Base Automation Technologies. The highest package is 51 LPA, and the average package is 3 to 5 LPA. 90% of people are easily getting placed. My plan after getting the placement is to work.
Infrastructure: The main thing I would like to mention here is the library, which has over 4 lakhs of books, including resources for IAS, IFS, IPS, and Central and State government aspirants. The gym is overall good. Campus timings are 8 to 4, depending on the day of the week and departments. Security is very strict here, so students can't do any unnecessary activities inside the campus.
Faculty: The faculty-to-student ratio is overall good. The relationship between the students and faculty members is very positive. My best faculty member is Dr. Kirigalan; he is a good professor and is always open to helping students after college hours. The courses are well-structured. We can expect 7 to 8 subjects for each semester, and everything is easy to understand.
Other: Milan and Aarush are the famous events in our college. Around 20 to 30 festivals happen here because students from all states are studying together, which is the main reason. The facilities and technology provisions in the classrooms include projectors, LED displays like SMART televisions, AC, and so on.

Chronicles of campus: The college review.
Placements: Around 80% of students got placed from our course. The highest salary package offered is nearly 50 LPA, and the lowest salary offered is 3 LPA. The average salary package offered is about 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Bank of America, and Deloitte.
Infrastructure: Facility and infrastructure are good. Infrastructure is being upgraded constantly new buildings are being built and new technologies are being used. For hostels, they use face scan entry and for library we need to scan the ID card to enter. Library is pretty huge. Wi-Fi speed is very good.
Faculty: Faculty members are okay. Since there are so many students good faculty members are less when compared to the number of students. Course curriculum is outdated and they teach the same outdated subjects which aren't relevant. Exams are pretty easy and there is exam every month.
Other: I chose this course because I have an interest in coding. The best thing about our course is the placement. Things to be improved regarding course curriculum and to learn relevant skills. Many events take place. Main fest is Milan. Campus has every extracurricular activity which we can imagine.

Good infrastructure and campus life, but average teaching quality.
Placements: Students who sit for placements almost get placed. Nearly 90% of the placements are done in our college. There is a separate cell called the placements cell for handling placements; their work is to bring companies to the college and prepare students to get placed. The highest package is around 65 LPA and the lowest is around 2-3 LPA. The average package is around 7-9 LPA. TCS, Infosys and Accenture are the top recruiters here.
Infrastructure: The CSE department has good labs with updated systems and projectors in classrooms. Campus-wide Wi-Fi is available but sometimes unstable. The library is large with both physical and digital resources. Hostels are clean, with AC/non-AC options, though Wi-Fi is patchy. Washrooms are maintained, but can get crowded at peak times. Mess food is average; some days it is good, and some days it is repetitive. Canteens and food courts offer a better variety at extra cost. Medical facilities include a campus health center and tie-ups with hospitals. Sports facilities are excellent, with grounds, courts, a gym, and indoor games. Overall, facilities are solid, though Wi-Fi and food could be better.
Faculty: Teachers are generally qualified, approachable, and knowledgeable, with many explaining concepts well, though a few stick to theory. The curriculum is fairly updated and provides a strong foundation, but students need to supplement it with projects, internships, and certification to become truly industry-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, with a high pass percentage thanks to internal marks and continuous assessment, so most students clear without much stress. Overall, teaching quality is decent, the course is relevant, and with extra effort from students, it prepares them reasonably well for the industry.
Other: I chose CSE because I've always been interested in coding, problem-solving, and new technologies like AI/ML. The best thing about this course is the strong foundation it gives in programming, data structures, and core CS concepts, plus the exposure to projects and coding competitions. However, I wish the course had more practical, industry-oriented subjects and hands-on projects rather than too much theory. Campus life is lively, with many cultural and technical fests, clubs, and hackathons that help students showcase their skills. The crowd is diverse and energetic, making it easy to connect with others. The exam system needs improvement.

Overall, I am satisfied.
Placements: I think pretty much all good performing students get placed in our college who survive without any standing arrears. The highest place was 60 LPA, I guess, and the lowest may be in mass recruiting in TCS or Wipro, maybe 3 LPA, which is expected for below-average students. Those who are placed for 60 LPA are exceptionally good in the area. It depends on the performance of the students, as SRM almost brings 600-700 companies a year. Almost 30% got internships on their own, and the college also provides, but not to this extent.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, and the library are really good in SRM. Infrastructure-wise, it's a 10/10. They keep on renovating and building new buildings. At least the classroom for CSE is 10/10, as they even provide escalators in the building and fully air-conditioned classrooms. The hostel is also good, and hygiene is properly maintained. Medical facilities are also good as they have a medical college and hospital within the campus, and SRM students get a discount of 50% in the medical college. As I know, many of my friends are into sports; it's not that good, and I am not into any sports, that's why.
Faculty: Teachers are extremely qualified but not that knowledgeable or keen about teaching, I feel personally. You will have to work on yourself to make yourself industry-ready. Semester examinations are really easy, and the pass percentage is really high, so maintaining your CGPA matters the most rather than just passing the exams. Unlike other colleges, SRM has very easy exams.
Other: I opted for this course because I love cybersecurity. Faculty should be improved. Event and fest freedom is the best part of SRM.

SRM thoroughly reviewed by a second-year student.
Placements: The placements for my branch are bad. The median package is between 5 to 7 Lacs per annum. The highest it has ever gone is somewhere in the 20 Lacs per annum range; that too could be an off-campus placement. Pharma, virology, and medical fields have requirements for biotechnology individuals.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for my branch is pretty good and world-class. It is one of the best reasons for doing Biotechnology from SRM. The laboratories and equipment are all up to the mark and modern, which is essential to give us hands-on experience, which is vital in our field. The hostels, on the other hand, are average at best. The first-year hostels are clustered to fit in as many students as possible, but at least there are rooms available, which reduce drastically for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years. The common washrooms are comparable to railway washrooms, but the attached washrooms are still satisfactory.
Faculty: The teaching is a hit or a miss. The teachers are either good at explaining the concepts, or they just aren't able to impart the knowledge they possess. The faculty members, though, are highly qualified individuals who are doing their own research as well. The course curriculum follows the new NEP; it's as good as it could be, but there's always a huge room for improvement. The assessments are hectic, as we have CTs almost every month, along with assignments and projects adding up to a total of 60 marks for internals. The rest 40 marks are from the end-semesters of 75 marks, which is converted to 40, making the total 100 marks (60+40).
Other: The high-end infrastructure and equipment available for my course at SRM were the leading factors for me to join the course. The fests are good, especially the techno fest Aarush, but the Milan fest is more crowded due to locals also coming to the fest.
