Although admission to BE/ BTech programme at TIET is conducted through JEE Main. Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology accepts JEE Main scores as well as merit for admisison to the BE/ BTech courses. Based on the JEE Main score and Class 12 scores, candidates are then called for the TIET Counselling process. Admissions for vacant seats (if any) in subsequent rounds of counselling is done based on All India rank (AIR) of JEE Main 2023 as a tie breaker. The eligibility criteria to get admissions into MTech/ME courses at Thapar University are candidates must complete their BE/BTech/BSc/MSc degree in a relevant stream from a recognised university with a minimum aggregate of 60% (55% for reserved categories and industry-sponsored).
