It is great, but not good value for money.
Placements: I have not come to the placements year yet, but I have heard a lot about the placements that the seniors get amazing jobs from Many international companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Instagram, and Facebook. In my course, especially the roles and the job placements are really good.
Infrastructure: Great infrastructure here. Wi-Fi, very cool buildings. Classrooms are almost the latest, and now the remaining blocks are also getting renovated. It would be a great course to join, a great college, and teachers. I haven't been to a hostel, but they are dope.
Faculty: Teachers are qualified but not that helpful. The semesters are normal, not that difficult. If you try too hard, you will get great marks. If you don't study, it will be very tough for you to catch up with the remaining students, as competition is high.
Other: This was very interesting before I entered college.

Expensive but provides facilities for it. Amazing infrastructure, average placements and teachers.
Placements: In my course computer science engineering in first year around 450 students are placed. (According to 24-25 batch) the highest salary is 52 LPA, median salary is 5.94 LPA, and average salary is 18 LPA packages. 818 students got internships, 462 students got placements (for entire computer engineering, not only computer science). Companies are Goldman Sachs, Google, Microsoft, Amex, Expedia, Texas Instruments, Apple, Infosys, and TCS. Roles offered are SDE, analyst, consulting, and data analysis.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are top notch, massive sitting space, well air conditioned, working Wi-Fi throughout campus, and well-maintained massive library with all types of books with discussion areas. Strict rules for the library not allowing eating stuff with a library card for entry. Infrastructure of library is fabulous allowing a very calm and peaceful space for working. Hostel facilities depend on hostel with mess for each hostel providing quality food. Rooms with and without non-AC. A canteen for evening snacks within the mess itself. Chess, table tennis, and carrom facilities are also provided in the hostels. Well-maintained rooms with different types of sharing (2S, 3S, 4S)depending on hostel.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are very well educated and know what they are teaching with a deep knowledge of their course. Not satisfied with the teaching methods of few teachers and did not understand much in their class so I had to refer to other sources. Course curriculum for first year includes all subjects, and the following years include a well-managed course that helps in grabbing a high paying job. The curriculum is a bit tough, and the exams are held with percentile (relatively grading) format. Due to the large number of kids enrolled, passing and failing students vary a lot majority getting above 7.5 CGPA average.
Other: I chose this computer science course because of the emerging opportunities in future and my interest in the field. I would want better faculty for certain subjects even though they are helpful but they fail to make the concepts clear. Events are really great and happen throughout the year some or the other. Sports and extracurricular facilities are really well managed with coaches for each sport. Scholarships upto 1 crore or more are provided to children depending on performance. Our campus has eating dining places and shopping as well.

I know that Thapar's standards have fallen from what it was before lockdown.
Placements: Currently, around 20% of students get summer internships, which is great. According to me, 10% of students get placed, even in the 3rd year, which is great. Considering the market condition, for a private college to maintain its standard and get more placements and interns than the previous year is great.
Infrastructure: For my course specifically, I think every aspect of the course is up to date. The hostel is the best in India, and the classroom just feels like a foreign University. If any students come to Thapar, it would be a dream come true for him, so yes, it's great considering everything.
Faculty: I can't say for faculty as they are textbook-oriented teachers, so I don't consider them great, but they are qualified enough and knowledgeable. As a 3rd year student, I have published 2 research papers, so you can see how good they are. Semester exams are very difficult to get through. The pass percentage is 33%, and the course is industry-relevant.
Other: I just want to say, if you want to enjoy college life and events, no college can beat Thapar. In that, you get so many events in a year, you will miss some of them because you won't get time to attend, and you will know every other day is some fest is going on.

Thapar University's comprehensive review.
Placements: Placements are good, averaging more than 13 LPA for the CSE branch. Approximately 80% of students are placed. The highest package for 2024 was 1.22 cr. Top recruiters were Apple, Google, Rubrik, etc. Many students were selected for internships in various companies and MNCs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is top-notch. The facilities are amazing, and well-equipped labs are there. Library is one of the best libraries in the world. Classrooms are equipped with AC and projectors. Hostels are very good, and all hostels are equipped with ACs.
Faculty: The faculty members are decent enough. Teachers are very helpful and teach relevant stuff. They are highly qualified and hold PhDs in their fields. Semester exams are not very difficult here. This college follows relative grading. Overall, the system is very good.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in a college with good placements and infrastructure.

Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
Placements: 80% of the students got placed. only condition is that they have passed in all subjects. top recruiters are JP Morgan, IBM, Amazon, Accenture, Infosys, Walmart, Microsoft, etc. 90% of the students got internship. Our college gives opportunities to every branch of engineering.
Infrastructure: Classrooms have Wi-Fi routers and projectors. library is huge and have lots of books. There are 17 hostels, of which 8 are for girls and rest are for boys. Food quality is good and there is variety of food. You get sweeter everyday. There is a dispensary and a medical shop in the campus. There is badminton court, tennis court, football field, basketball field, cricket field, swimming pool, etc. With coaches.
Faculty: The faculty is well-learned. The only thing I don't like is that teachers don't care much about whether the student is listening or not. There are 2 semesters in a year, and each semester has two exams. Exams are quite difficult, but you can easily pass by doing previous year papers.
Other: I am a computer science student, and I chose the course because I like coding. I want to reduce the Punjab quota. Thapar conducts many events, and its main event is Saturnalia. Last year, Mohit Chauhan came to our college during this festival. It's fee is a little high, but you can avail of scholarships if you have a good score in JEE or boards. From 2nd year, scholarships are provided on the basis of CGPA. Last year, Thapar had around 3000 students in its first year, and this intake has increased this year.

The college is nice and I am satisfied .
Placements: *Around 90-95 percent of students gets placed in our course (computer Science and engineering). *The highest package is 40lpa and the lowest can be 7lpa for our course and the average is about 10lpa. *Top recruiting companies are Zomato, deloitte, IBM, Infosys, JPMC, Microsoft, Reliance, etc. *Getting internship is not that easy so about 20% of the students got on campus internship. *Top roles offered for our course are database administrator, data scientist, web developer, app developer, computer network, etc.
Infrastructure: *infrastructure of our course is up to the mark and they have an amazing library (the largest library of Asia) *Hostel facilities are also good but not all of them are good it depends. Few hostels are not in good condition but most of them are above average condition. The quality of food is also good here atleast better than many colleges.
Faculty: Teachers are not that helpful but yes they are knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. This course is relevant and maybe the highest paid course. The difficulty level of exams is higher than many colleges. The pass percentage is around 35% for every subject.
Other: I chose this college because of the placement factor. It comes after bits pilani if ranked according toh packages and placement. Events are good and there is a huge crowd in campus.

Infrastructure, Education and placements are good. But teachers are not much responsive.
Placements: Many companies like Amazon, Flipkart, Apple, JPMC etc. visit campus for recruitments and provide internships to students. The main roles offered are SDE or SRE and many other non tech roles too. The highest package this year was 60LPA in CSE and average was 13-15LPA.
Infrastructure: Classroom and labs are well structured. Library is the biggest attraction due to its beautiful building and variety of books. Wi-Fi is provided 24*7 all over the campus but in hostels, it is not that good. Food provided in mess is not that good. Medical facilities are also available at campus itself. Many sports competitions are also held in regular intervals.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable but not much responsive. Quality of teaching is fairly good. Various semester projects are there in there for solving real life problems and assignments are provided for better learning. Semester exams are conducted as sessional followed with lab evaluation, then mid term exams and then again sessional, labs and end term exams. You have to achieve at least 33% marks for passing.
Other: CSE is considered as best course, having the highest placements. Better improvements can be done by more practical knowledge rather than writing codes on paper. Many events are held such as Saturnalia and Thapar food fest etc. Scholarship like merit based and category based etc. Are also provided by thapar to atleast 10% students.

Good placement opportunities provided for CSE students compared to all other colleges in Punjab.
Placements: From semester 7 students are eligible for placements. Companies start to come from the end of semester 6. All the big MNCs that come in IITs also come here. Some of them are Microsoft, Arcesium, Samsung, etc. The highest package is 40 LPA, average package is 8 LPA and the lowest package is 6 LPA for CSE branch. 90% of the students get placed from here every year. After getting the degree I will be working for top MNCs. The internship opportunities for the students start from third year onwards. The companies that mostly visit are Microsoft, Deshaw, etc. The job role offered by the companies is software development engineer.
Infrastructure: There is a huge library present inside the campus and students can issue books from there. The classes are fully equipped with ACs and projectors. The lecture theatres are also best. All types of sports are also present here. There are many different types of grounds for different sports. In fact, there is a swimming pool here. There are many clubs and societies available in the college for students. Our college has one of the best hostels. Currently, I am in Hostel O which is newly made. The hostels are fully air conditioned. One room consists of a balcony, a bed, a study table and many more things. The mess is handled by Sodexo and the food quality is top notch and the best. The registration for hostel is done by filling the Google form made available by the college after admission. Our hostels are arranged according to our grades.
Faculty: The faculty to student ratio is 1:35. Many of the faculty members here have completed their Masters from IIT and are Ph.D. holders. The teaching method is very good here. There are two exams in one semester. One is mid term and another one is end term. Mid term is easy but end term is slightly tough.
Other: I had chosen this course in this college because the placement of CSE branch is best in this college in comparison to all other courses. The course fee is Rs 219000 per semester excluding the hostel fees. There are many scholarships offered to students. In fact, there are scholarship offered with 100% fee waiver. There is one scholarship named merit cum that is for students whose economic background is weak. Right now I am in 2nd year. Many top notch companies have come here for internships. I am expecting the same for me when I will be in 3rd year. Saturnalia is one of the best fests of our college. It takes place in the month of September.

Honestly, with 91%ile and 90+ in boards, you've got a decent shot at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.

CSE core might be tough at that percentile, but branches like ECE, Electrical, Mechanical, or some newer specialisations are definitely possible.

It'll depend on counselling rounds and

Bro 91.1 percentile is solid 👍 not crazy high, but definitely workable.

For Thapar:

  • CSE/COE is honestly tough at that percentile.

  • ENC/ECE maybe borderline.

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical — you’ve got a decent shot.

  • If you have Punjab quota, your chances improve a lot.
