2026 Thapar University Review. Placements, life and admission.
Placements: My branch has the best placement in the whole college, from software tech roles to electronics core roles to non-tech roles that were offered. This year, 98% placement record with an average package near to 19 LPA. Placement is decently good. Our college also has a minimum cap for companies; any company offering below 7.2 LPA is not allowed in the placement season. Despite that, 500+ companies visit every year.
Infrastructure: Hostels are like hotels. In fact, they actually are hotels converted to hostels. Best infrastructure. In fact, the college has several awards for best infrastructure. We have Asia's 7th largest library. Infrastructure is mesmerizing, an architectural marvel. However, these days there is too much construction that spoils the vibe.
Faculty: Faculty is one of the most respected faculties across the country. Some teachers are paid so much because of the levels of excellence they have in their subjects. Although exams are tough and there is too much pressure from exams. Exams are one of the worst times of the year.
Other: We are number 1 in India in sports. In all major hackathons, our students are in the top 3. We have North India's best and largest fests. The only bad part of this college is the in-time of hostels. Hate that honestly.

Review of Thapar University.
Placements: 60-70 percent of students are placed. 1.3 crores package is the highest, and 11 LPA is around the average package. All major companies came for recruitment (FAANG and all). Electronics and Computer engineering, Data Science, and AI emerge as the top branches. SDE and management roles are mostly offered.
Infrastructure: Hostel facilities are pretty good except in some 1st year rooms, AC and attached washrooms are available with attached balcony, mess food is provided by French company Sudexo. Extra-curricular activities rooms are also present in hostels. Overall crowd is also good.
Faculty: All professors are highly qualified, including IITians and NITians. The course is a bit irrelevant. 1-2 subjects make students industry-ready. But at the end of the day, students have to develop skills on their own, which helps in placement highly. Semester exams can be passed with studying a week prior.
Other: Fests are super awesome, and societies are a great portion of campus life.

Thapar University offers excellent infrastructure and is well-equipped.
Placements: Around 85%-90% of students from ECED got placed. The highest package is 36 LPA, the lowest is 3.5 LPA, and the average is around 6.5 LPA-7 LPA. Top recruiters include Amazon, Infosys, and Deloitte. Nearly 75% of students got internships at firms like DRDO, Adobe, and Goldman Sachs.
Infrastructure: Thapar's ECED department has smart classrooms, advanced labs, Wi-Fi, and a rich library. Hostels are clean with good Wi-Fi, mess food is decent, and canteens offer variety. Medical aid is 24/7 available. Great sports facilities include gym, courts, and playfields.
Faculty: Teachers in ECED at Thapar are helpful, highly qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is strong with a focus on concepts and practicals. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented. Exams are moderate. Pass percentage is around 85%-90%.

Thapar University life is the best in all forms.
Placements: The placement cell of our college is very hardworking. They call various companies and try to place every student in their respective fields. Many students got placed in various companies like Samsung, BlackRock, FirstCry, Google, Amazon, TCS, etc.
Infrastructure: Living in the hostels of Thapar University feels more like a hotel. We have good furniture and air-conditioned facilities depending upon varying charges.
Faculty: Faculty members are good in this college. They are very helpful and we can contact them at any time of the day not only for academic-related matters but for personal problems as well. They try to give their best in all forms. They also help us with various projects which are out of their fields. Our course focuses on both, CS subjects as well as core electronics subjects such that we have scope in both fields.
Other: A fest is organised every weekend, either it is a society fest or a sports fest. This college also provides scholarships based on CG criteria, based on the 12th percentage or JEE percentage.

Amazed by the experience in Thapar University Patiala in 2024.
Placements: About 80-90 percent of the students in the electronics and computer branch get placed. Placement was not so good for 2023 due to rescission, but it has again shown in good numbers in 2024. The average package is 10-15 LPA, and the highest goes to 30-50 LPA. Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Samsung, etc. are some of the top recruiting companies. About 70-80 percent of students get internships in electronics and computers. Some of the companies that offer good levels of internships are Google, Wipro, and Samsung. Top roles offered are software engineer, hardware engineer, data scientist, etc.
Infrastructure: The entire campus, including hostel buildings, class rooms, and libraries, is all air-conditioned and Wi-Fi equipped. The campus is well connected. Many eateries are available for the enjoyment of students. Lush green gardens are available. All kinds of sports complexes are available, including swimming pools, athletic grounds, running tracks, badminton, basketball courts, etc. The mess of the hostels is highly hygienic, and the food also tastes good. Hostel room facilities are good enough with regular cleaning of rooms and laundry services. Thapar itself has a good inside campus market with a salon for girls and boys, stationary shops, food shops, as well as a general store. Thapar has a medical store and a hospital on campus, which is 24 hours open.
Faculty: Teachers at Thapar University are well qualified and helpful. The overall teaching quality is good. The course is a mix of theoretical learning and hands-on experience in every field. The curriculum is regularly updated to match the current world requirements. Semester exams are fair and challenging. And the pass percentage is typically high. There are overall 4 major exams in a year, with a few assignments to be submitted in between.

Placements: 83 percent of the students were placed in my course: Electronics and Computer Engineering . The highest package was 40 LPA, and the minimum was 2 LPA, and the average was 11 LPA . Recruiting companies: Google , Microsoft , Apple , BlackRock , Infosys , Wipro. Roles offered: Software Developer , Front-end and Back-end. 50 percent of students got internships in the 3rd - 4th year of engineering.
Infrastructure: College has world-class infrastructure with Nav Nalanda Library, top-class . Wi-Fi speed is excellent, approximately 7mbps downloading speed . Mess food is excellent with Sodexo as a managing branch . Classrooms are excellent with foldable chairs and centrally air-conditioned halls.
Faculty: Teachers are not very helpful. I don’t like going to classes . The teaching quality is not good . I don’t like the curriculum . In the first semester, there was no programming language, but in the 2nd semester, there was a C language. We have a subject in the 3rd semester as EDP, which I don’t think is very valuable, so I don’t like it as much, but it’s okay.
Other: I chose this course as it holds the computer branch which has a good scope in the future. Also , I didn’t get good courses in other colleges. Also , Thapar is the best private engineering college in India . Although my branch has very good subjects, only 1-2 subjects require removal according to me . Various fests and events take place like Saturnalia , Event X , Thapar Food Fest , Technical Fest , Mudra Nights , Cultural Fests, etc. Campus crowd is high but not as much as other engineering colleges. Computer branch has 1100 students and my branch has 300.

Review of Thapar University.
Placements: The overall placement is excellent for our current senior batch. Many have been placed at various companies like Optum, FirstCry, etc. Also many if then git interned at Black Rock, Xpedia and many more. The college is also working very hard to call more companies so that all students get placed at a good package.
Infrastructure: It doesn't feel like I am staying in a hostel. It's like staying in a hotel with all the facilities. We have good mess and staff that keep our feedback and work on behalf of it. They provide good food also. We can choose a 2-seater or 3-seater as per our convenience with AC facilities with some extra charges.
Faculty: Faculty is excellent in this college. They are highly educated in their fields and provide assistance to us at any time, whether online or offline. We can go to them for extracurricular projects outside of their field, and they still help us in that without any hesitation.
Other: Campus life is very good. Each and every part of the college area is very well utilized, and it is a good stress reliever to roam around this beautiful campus with friends.

Good infrastructure, need improvement in faculty, awesome facilities, and very good placement.
Placements: This time the placement is good. Approximately 80 students got placed in Black rock Company, while others in Future First, Xperia, etc. Internships offers are also coming regularly by the college. And each and every student got the opportunity to sit in the first round for the internship test.
Infrastructure: Hostel infrastructure is very good as compared to other colleges. Mess food is more than above average, and it has luxurious rooms as well. We have the option to go for a single-seater, two-seater, or even a four-seater with AC facilities provided. It looks more like a hotel than a hostel.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful when needed for courses or any project task. Course curriculum is good but needs more like project work rather than only theoretical knowledge. Also, the relatively new marking system should be stooped. Rather, it should have the percentage system for every student as it was in class 10/12.
Other: Crowd is increasing every year in this college as well as the feels. The campus life is much better. Almost every part of the campus has been effectively utilized.

I don't think that Thapar Institute offers any type of Scholarships but you can go through their website once for more clarity.

Hi, Thapar University has excellent placements in all branches. As you ask specifically for EC/CS, the package is really good. On average a student gets around 5-6 lakh packages, highest is around 35 lakh. Both mass recruiters and product-based companies visit here.

In terms of cut-offs, DCRUST seems more competitive than Thapar University. However, placements is what matters.
Thapar University will expose you to some great companies like Amazon, D Shaw, Sandisk, ZS and Deloitte which might not be same with DCRUST. If your pocket is not constrained you should
