M.A. in Social Work (Children & Families) - Batch of 2019
5.0
It's a great environment with a good location, and it offers the best in social sciences.
Placements: In the 2019 batch, TATA Trust, NGOs, HFC, and many more recruiters visited the campus. The overall placement scenario is good because students are trained to serve society, which aligns with the institute's mission. The package ranged from 10 to 15 lakhs per year. TISS does not provide stipends except for the M.A. HR program. The institute mainly focuses on the social sector and promotes new NGOs to address emergency issues. It's not designed to meet market needs but rather to contribute to societal improvement.
Infrastructure: Students are trained to react to all aspects, like social, political, emotional, educational, and environmental issues. On campus, students enjoy the annual fest named QUINTESSENCE. The college has good infrastructure and a beautiful campus. They provide research material, books, and comics from the library. There are a total of 10 hostels on campus. It's exciting to see Bollywood stars around, as many big stars' houses are visible from the campus.
Faculty: The faculty is well-rounded and engaged in national and international social work projects, keeping them up-to-date. Our course curriculum is inclusive and better than that of B-schools and IIM. The course offers many part-time and full-time projects designed to bring about positive change in society. Almost all students have successfully cleared the exams.
Other: Financial aid and 100% scholarships are provided to reserved candidates from various income groups.

Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Coordinator, Field Worker, children & Family Counsellor, Legal Adviser, etc. 20K is the lowest and 50 or 60 K will be the highest depending on the CV. All the students were placed in different organizations and CSR-related companies for their fieldwork and internship as part of their academics. TISS got a big network where it has spread all over India during this pandemic.
Infrastructure: We have 24 hours library facility with Wi-Fi, a Conference Hall and an Event hall. There will be three hostels one for girls one for boys and one is gender-neutral anyone can live there one can live there only if you are qualified in an interview in the first year you'll not get admission in the hostel except you have a reservation or Disabled they have special provisions. 2. Hostel serves good food and there's a canteen where you can all kinds of foods. They have counselling facilities, a clinic where the doctor will be present every day for a stipulated time due to covid the classes has shifted to online Still counselling facilities were facilitated online. Students who got into tiss will have an insurance facility as well. There is a basketball area and beautiful weather within the college. An ATM is available campus will be on high security all the time.
Faculty: 1. All faculty members have good experiences and expertise in their specializations. During this covid pandemic since the classes happened online and fieldwork offline faculty is so approachable and they have good knowledge and hold on technology. Their teaching skills will be practical, with a lot of relevant examples and composed discussions and presentations around it. 2. Yes the curriculum of this course is well versed and it keeps on improving according to the necessity. It does make the student industry ready provided the student should be enthusiastic to learn and unlearn many things.

Almost 80% of our batch students got placed through the campus placements in leading organisations like Tata and Reliance. The highest salary package offered was 6 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 4 LPA. Internships are compulsory as they provide good practical exposure.
Infrastructure: The college has a beautiful and lush green campus in the middle of the city. Canteen facilities are well-maintained and affordable. All the classrooms and laboratories are in the best shape and help in creating a good atmosphere for learning. Sports facilities are available. However, we have very limited time for sports due to studies and project work.
Faculty: The course curriculum is much relevant to the industry standards, and it makes us industry-ready. I miss my college days due to support from our teachers, whose lectures were the best and always aimed at our development. All of them are highly educated and masters of their subjects.
