 The University of Mumbai (MU) releases multiple merit lists every year followed by a counselling and document verification process to offer admission to students in MU-affiliated colleges. Mumbai University admissions are held on the basis of merit-cum-entrance. Students must clear their previous qualifying examination and appear for the prescribed entrance test for the particular course they are interested in. MU admissions accept entrance exams, such as CUET,  MHT CET,  MAH CET,  JEE Main,  NEET, and CMAT, among others.

The affiliated courses to Mumbai University accepts MHT CET exam. To get into the colleges, the Mumbai University cutoff 2024 for the CSE course stood at 27.66 for the General AI category candidates. Similarly, for the Information Technology course, the MHT CET cutoff stood between 2.47 and 95.27. Moreover, BE in Aritificial Intelligence cutoff stood at 68.94 for the General AI quota.
