University of Mysore offers MBA based on Karnataka PGCET exam scores. It is done for full-time and part-time programmes. As per the eligibility criteria mentioned for both part-time and full-time, the needed percentage should stood at 50% and 45% for unreserved and reserved category candidates in their bachelor's degree, however, there is no percentage criteria mentioned to be needed by the candidates in 12th. Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Full-Time MBA
- Candidates must pass a three-year bachelor's degree or equivalent from a recognised institute.
- Qualifying marks in the bachelor's degree examination is specified below based on the social category of the candidate
- Unreserved Candidates: 50% aggregate marks
- SC, ST and Category-I of Karnataka Candidates: 45% aggregate marks
Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Part-Time MBA
- In addition to the Karnataka PGCET eligibility for a full-time MBA course, candidates must have a work experience of not less than three years as of the year 2025.
- The establishment or the workplace of the candidate must be within 40 KM radial distance from the institution he/she is seeking admission in.
Karnataka PGCET Eligibility Criteria for Government Seats
Candidates should have studied and passed from a government-recognised educational institution located in Karnataka for a minimum period of seven academic years commencing from 1st standard continuously or in broken period and must have passed class 10th or class 12th from a government-recognised institution located in Karnataka.

The candidate should have passed the qualifying examination from Karnataka. In addition, either of the parents must have studied for a period of seven years in Karnataka
OR
Children of ex-servicemen who had declared a place in Karnataka as their home town at the time of joining the defence services. In addition, such candidates should have passed the qualifying exam from a University or Board located anywhere in India.

The first step for admission process is the application form. Before completing the application form students must review the qualifying requirements. Since admission is entrance-based students must also complete the PGEE application.
Aspirants must start by filling out the application form online. Mysore University admissions are mostly based on entrance-exam score. The university conducts Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) for all PG courses offered by the university. Besides, the university also accepts national or state-level entrance exams for admission to specific courses. The entrance exams accepted are MAT, CAT, Karnataka PGCET, KCET, etc. Once the candidates are selected, the university releases a merit list.
Mysore University MSc Biotechnology is a two-year course spread across four semesters. The curriculum is based on Choice-Based Credit System. The curriculum include core papers, soft core and open elective paper with credit for each. Dissertation is alloted to the students in the third semester which they need to complete by the end of the course.
Mysore University is recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is accredited with A Grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University of Mysore has also been ranked 44 in the University category and 71 in the Overall category by NIRF ranking 2023. The requirement of entrance exam varies course-wise at University of Mysore. The university considers scores in CAT, MAT, Karnataka PGCET, GATE, etc. for admission to specific courses. The university also conducts Postgraduate Entrance Exam (PGEE) for admission to PG courses. The selection for courses such as MCom, M.Ed, etc. is merit-based.
Candidates willing to give admission must first check the eligibility requirement & then fill out the complete application form. Admission is given based on the test scores, hence, students must fill out the relevant entrance examination application as well. Further, the final selection is given basis the score in examination & fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
For the holistic development of the students, the university has a separate cell called the Directorate of Physical Education, which looks after the sports-related events. The University of Mysore sports facilities include three cricket grounds, four tennis courts, a cinder track, three basketball courts, etc. It also has Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar, Gangotri Glades, and three indoor stadiums. A well-equipped large gymnasium and a well-maintained swimming pool are also available for the students to focus on their physical health.
Candidates need to complete a minimum of graduation preferably BTech/ BE in relevant subjects with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ ST/ Category-I) to apply for Mysore University M.Tech courses. Below is specialisation specific eligibility:
