SRC and SPTC campuses of SASTRA university do not provide hostel facilities to their students.

SASTRA Deemed University has two branches. One campus is part of Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) Campus. It is located at Tirumalaisamudram in Thanjavur. Having been established in the year 1984, this campus is named Shanmugha Polytechnic College (SPTC Campus). SPTC Campus has been established exclusively for providing Diploma courses. It provides four courses in the Polytechnic Department. 

The other campus is located at Kumbakonam in Tamil Nadu. Having been established in November 2000, this institution is named Srinivasa Ramanujan Centre (SRC Campus). SRC Campus provides more than 20 courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate levels. In addition to offering numerous degree programs, the centre has dedicated a National Monument honouring Srinivasa Ramanujan, the Mathematical Genius. This centre was founded to give high-quality education to the residents of Kumbakonam and the surrounding areas. SRC Campus has a wonderful infrastructure that highlights Kumbakonam's traditional urban landscape. Modern classrooms, computer laboratories, engineering and research laboratories, an air-conditioned auditorium, and a library are all integrated into one large six-storey building. The SRC campus also has a museum dedicated to Srinivasa Ramanujan's life and work.

Placements at SASTRA Branches

Placements at SPTC Campus: Training and Placement Cell is common for all the campuses. T&P Cell of Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA), Tirumalaisamudram, assists the training and placement activities of SPTC Campus throughout the year. A lot of multinational corporations, business organisations, and other major industries visit this campus to recruit students.

T&P Cell provides career counselling, organises group conversations and conducts interview sessions. They provide entrepreneurial programs, as well as in-plant training and arranging industrial work activities. More than 30 companies visit SPTC Campus, and 90 per cent of students get placed every year.

Placements at SRC Campus: T&P Cell of the SRC campus guides students in developing communication abilities both verbally and non-verbally and public speaking skills. Personality development training is provided through internal and external faculty programs.

T&P Cell offers career advice and conducts group talks and mock interviews. They organise programs to promote entrepreneurship and arrange in-plant training and secure industry project work.

Courses at SASTRA Branches

SPTC Campus Courses: Shanmugha Poly Technic College provides four courses at undergraduate levels. These courses are categorised into the N and M scheme, which has been provided by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Undergraduate courses are of three-year duration with two semesters every year.

SASTRA Infrastructure and Facilities:

SPTC Campus: This SPTC Campus is established for the students residing in Thanjavur and the surrounding areas. So, a hostel facility is not provided for the students who are enrolled in diploma courses. Students from different districts of Tamil Nadu, who want hostel facilities can look for private accommodations.

The college does not provide transportation for students studying at the SPTC Campus. As this campus is situated inside the Shanmugha Arts, Science, Technology & Research Academy (SASTRA) Campus, Library, ATMs, Post office, Canteens, Stationery stores and Sports facilities are common for both main and SPTC campus students. 

SRC Campus: This SRC Campus is established for the students residing in Kumbakonam and the surrounding areas. So, a hostel facility is not provided on the campus. Students from other districts of Tamil Nadu who need hostels can look for private accommodation. 

Similarly, transportation facilities are also not provided by the institution for the students. 

The Central Library is located on the second floor of the six-storey SRC campus. It is named after Dr S Radhakrishnan, the guru of educators. It contains a collection of 29,090 print books and 1,85,757 e-books on areas such as Engineering and Technology, Arts, Sciences and Management among others.

If you will take addmission only with IPE scores then you are likely to get seat of CSE, ECE, or mechanical branch .If you will take admission via IPE and JEE scores then you are get a seat in ECE.It depends on you by which path you chose to get admission.

With 95.5% in IPE and 90 percentile in JEE Mains, your combined score is strong enough for SASTRA’s ECE cutoff in recent years.

Past admissions show students with slightly lower marks have still got ECE.

Packages range from INR 27 LPA to INR 45 LPA

Usually get hired from Microsoft, Paypal, Amazon, Wipro, Infosys, etc.

Even in mechanical also good placements can be seen. Top tier companies visit the University.
