24 x 7 Power Supply: All the hostels have a 24*7 power supply so that students can have a pleasant stay at the hostels. There is power backup as well and in case of any technical issues, the electrician is available to fit it quickly.

Wi-Fi Internet Services: All the hostels are equipped with Wi-Fi services. Students can connect to the network with unique login credential which is provided to each student separately. The internet speed is also very good and seamless.

Yes, Chandigarh University conducts Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) for admission to all of its UG and PG courses. This is a common entrance exam that is applicable for admission of candidates in every stream such as Management, Humanities, Science, Commerce, Engineering, etc. To get admission to any of the courses offered at Chandigarh University, students have to apply for this exam on the official website of CUCET and appear for the exam. This exam is conducted in an online mode in two phases. For admission to any of the courses, there are two decisive factors that are considered by the university for admission. Gymnasium: A gym facility is also provided to all the students. There are all the types of equipment available along with a trainer. A student can seek guidance on workout and diet plans as per his/her needs and requirements. The gym follows particular timings and opens as per the morning and evening slots. It is spacious enough to accommodate 20-25 students at a time.

Well-equipped reading rooms: Though one can study anywhere in the hostel area, there are reading rooms made especially for studying. CU Chandigarh provides a transport facility, banking facility, the university library and several other facilities to its students which include:

  • Academics: CU University Chandigarh has 14 academic blocks which consists of labs and classrooms with hi-tech equipment and resources.
  • Hostel: Separate hostel facilities are available for both boys and girls. CU hostels provide several services to residents which include TV, Internet, a common room, a music room, indoor games, and a reading room. The hostels have gyms, a basketball court, and an attached mess for dining.
  • Library: The university has a Central Library and 14 other libraries across other academic blocks. There are over 120,000 books, 860,000 e-books, and more than 26,000 journals in the library.
  • Health Care: Chandigarh University has a highly qualified medical team to deal with any kind of medical emergency.

Night Canteen & Tuck Shops: A tuck shop inside the hostel provides snacks and other grocery items. It remains open at night and during exams as students might need refreshments and a break from studying. There are fruits, dairy products, stationery items, and a printing/copying machine.

Salon: There is a parlour inside the girls’ hostel with all the services that can be provided.

Visitors and Guest Room: In case someone’s family or guardian is visiting the campus, they may stay in the guest rooms available at the hostel. Prior notice must be given to the hostel authorities to check on the availability status. The rooms are clean and have attached bathrooms. The female guests must reside in the girl’s hostel. Similarly, the male guest is given a room in the boy’s hostel.

Code of conduct to be followed inside the hostel:

  • Avoid using foul or abusive language in the hostel.
  • Students are not allowed to own room crackers, lethal weapons, firearms, illegal materials or things that could seriously hurt someone. On the grounds of the hostel, students should not engage in any unlawful or unethical activities.
  • It is totally forbidden to smoke, drink alcohol or use drugs on the grounds of the hostel. Students and visitors are not permitted to carry or use alcohol, drugs or other intoxicants inside the hostel's property. Those detected with narcotics in their possession or under their influence will face harsh consequences.
